If you're outside Canada then you apply through CPA British Columbia, if you're in Canada you apply through the CPA of the province you're in.

Hello.. I have a question. Can I get my CPA GCA through ACCA before i get my PR? My PR application is currently being reviewed... and i remember seeing something that one of the requirements is to provide them with pr card or something similar but i see some peopel here have gone through it and have not gotten their pr yet!

You can submit your passport instead of PR card, it's one form of identification required.

Thank you for the clarification! I was really under the impression i needed to be a a resident to have my Canadian CPA done.. I would like to submit before April 2021 because then new terms will apply and who knows whether they are going to be tougher or not!

I'm not sure, i think you could try to include two referees who are ACCAs/FCCAs and write a cover letter saying because you haven't moved to Canada yet, you don't know any CPA who meets this requirement.

It's worth a shot but i don't know what the outcome would be.

Two Referee Recommendations.
  • Please download the Referee Recommendation Form, ask your two referees to complete the form, and upload into the application.
  • Your references do not need to send these forms directly to CPA Ontario but they should be made aware that CPA Ontario may contact them.
  • Reference forms must be completed on your behalf by individuals who are members of a Canadian provincial CPA body or CPA Bermuda. References must have known you for longer than one year and must not be related to you.
