The update email is for application closing and getting approved. Hopefully you should get a VFS update today or tomorrow.

Also when did you get the email? The email is generated exactly 24 hours after the change. If you got it sometime on Friday that means your application was approved sometime on Thursday and visa stamped.

You are right! The email is dated 29th, which was a Friday. So, looks like we get it this week. Will update this thread once the VFS status changes.

Today, got an E mail from Abudhabi Visa office. Requested to submit the following documents.

1. Schedule 4 (This was submitted at initial stage). However, requested again.

2. Annex A - NON-ACCOMPANYING DEPENDENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (form) -as follows

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue processing
your application, we request that you read the following and return the signed acknowledgment
attached to this letter within 45 days.

All family members, whether accompanying or not, are required to be examined at the same time as you.
The only exceptions are a spouse from whom you are legally separated but not divorced, or if you have
children for whom you do not have legal custody. These persons are not required to undergo medical and
background screening in connection with your immigration application. However, if they do not undergo
this screening, you cannot later sponsor them as members of the Family Class as they will be described
under section 117 (9)(d) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations which stipulates the
following:

117(9)(d) A foreign national shall not be considered a member of the family class by virtue of their
relationship to a sponsor if subject to subsection (10), the sponsor previously made an application for
permanent residence and became a permanent resident and, at the time of that application, the foreign
national was a non-accompanying family member of the sponsor and was not examined.

there is an email saying that the application has been updated. Unfortunately, we do not have access to MyCIC. Only my consultants do, so, no idea on the status. The VFS status has not changed, it's still 'is being processed...'

my cic account was updated on friday ( thats when i got the mail atleast), now the cic account says that the application has been approved and closed. but still no change in the vfs account - still says application under process...

Seems like they are working on your application. It seems like they've asked you to fill the form out because u have a non-accompanying dependent (wife or kids) and you will need to upload their medicals. If you choose not to, you will not be able to sponsor them later.

Bella,CANEE any VFS update?

If not it should happen this week. Although it is funny they take this long to send passport back after everything is done. For the Ottawa people tracker is generally activated within a day of My CIC closing.
