Thank you for the Idea. I did not really think about a writ of mandamus to CIC. but still, I am not sure if I would go for it at least for now
I will see what news can rise in up next.
I have some other friends who live in the same situation. ADVO is a real nightmare

"A writ of mandamus is a legal remedy in which a federal court forces a subordinate agency (such as the CIC) to act when the processing delay has been “unreasonable.” To be regarded as unreasonable, a delay must meet the following conditions:
The delay in question was longer than the nature of the process required, prima facie; the applicant and his or her legal counsel were not responsible for the delay; the authority responsible for the delay did not provide satisfactory justification"

I have been in the federal process for 33 months. No medical yet. What kind of legal actions can be taken? I lost Money, time and my life stopped because of their incompetency.

Marhaba Bro, how nice to hear from you.
Unfortunately, things are not that great from my end. My family is just lost in between the dream of CANADA and the reality of living in the Middle East as you know.
It comes to my mind some time to let it go and just restart my life in my home country but to be frank, I am not that person who just give up whatever the circumstances.
I thought to go legal also but still, I have that hope that at a certain time, my chance will arise.
for the time being, I am waiting to get my GCMS notes to see where my files stand then things could be much clearer.
I hope I can share with you great news soon pray for me

Bro, there is one way called a writ of mandamus. What I got about it is that you need to higher a lawyer once again from 3000 to 5000 US$
I did not go deep into that as I am not thinking about it really. However, that's one door to knock if required.

The consultant just confirmed that they are running BC for my application, Old news for me, so I have to wait again.

QIIP applicant. AOR for federal processing is July 2014.
Received medical October 2016 and no news till today. Its been over a year and no PPR.
There last response was that the file is currently under background investigation.
anyone in the same situation or timeline?

Bro, there is one way called a writ of mandamus. What I got about it is that you need to higher a lawyer once again from 3000 to 5000 US$
I did not go deep into that as I am not thinking about it really. However, that's one door to knock if required.
Any news from your side?
The consultant just confirmed that they are running BC for my application, Old news for me, so I have to wait again.

Brother, I am not sure if that option serves us as we are not inland and really I don't know about it.
What I was doing lately is bombarding the consultants with requests since nothing goes right up to this moment. I requested twice the GCMS and I have not received them the first was in Feb and the second was in July, I requested to renew my CSQ and all what I got is: "... I sent status requests for your GCMS notes, to the Visa Office, and to MIDI regarding the renewed CSQs ...and we are currently awaiting their response. We will be sure to inform you once we receive a response. We will be sure to follow up on the CSQ once we receive the next communication from the Visa Office with the medical examinations or a document request.. bla bla bla..."
the last email got is just confirming that they are running my BC.

Nothing can be done brother without facing the waiting nightmare MPs.. writ of mandamus ...

{If the applicant’s CSQ is valid at the receipt of the application at the CIO, the CSQ will be considered valid until a decision is rendered on the permanent residence application by IRCC.}
