Great, now for you it's better that you couldn't link it online. Cuz when you link, you have to wait for the introduction letter to arrive to your account online, which based on what I read can take a while as well...

yes I think so. but don't worry it will come maybe in the same day your passport comes back. if not, I heard that you can go without it anyway nut not sure.

VFS tracking is not working for me, it's showing empty status for passport

they usually send emails saying that your passports has been dispatched, but in my case because of the delay. The guy there knew me by name and he told I will call you when your passport arrive and he did once it arrive, even before the status change in the tracking.

if they didn't send you an email call them after 7 days from submission, or go to the office after a max of 10 days.

No, if there is a connection in the airport and it is part of your booked flight. You don't need anything (unless if you are leaving the airport)
If you are leaving the airport at all however, yes you will need one

I do have a connection flight, my layover is only 1hr 50min, which is very tight to catch the next flight.
last year I had a 7 hours layover and no visas was required, but some people are saying rules has changed about that. I'm a bit confused

I am still in the first step admission to a College in Quebec and CAQ

Planing for autumn 2017 , btw should I start in January to not be in trouble with the delay.

I am living and working in AD.

Oh, good luck then. Sometimes universities allow you to apply only for the upcoming semester, not the one after it. But anyways, some people could go just in time for Fall 2016, not everyone missed it. Just try to get an offer letter from the university (even if conditional offer) as soon as you can, and apply for the visa the same day so that you don't waste time.

If you want to be safe, you can ask the university for the option to defer in case your visa is delayed, because currently on CIC website it says 18 weeks is the standard processing time for UAE.

For the interview, it is only requested VERY rarely, so most likely you won't have to do one (unless there are some other rules for Quebec, I'm not sure about that). Just focus on writing a good statement of purpose, and make sure to show them that you are willing to leave Canada after your visa expires, and not willing to overstay because you have strong bonds to your home country
