Abu Dhabi - Background Checks

I have applied for study permit from Abu Dhabi on July 11th and upon status inquiry they have replied to me that currently they are doing Background Checks.

My question is, in case of study permit, does the background checks means that they have taken a decision to grant visa (similar to PR applications) ?

Or are there still chances of visa refusal

I am thinking they would only forward for background checks if visa officer deems the study permit application as acceptable..
otherwise they would have simply refused without sending for background???

background checks doesn't guarantee the visa...!! it simply suggests that your application is in process...!!

You should consider yourself lucky that you got a reply. I submitted 3 inquiries to Abu Dhabi office without a single response, even after 7 weeks of the date of application!

I live in Abu Dhabi itself.
I have no idea why my f***** application took soooo long. I'm getting crazy.

Hi,
I am presently working at Saudi Arabia and my wife she's in Canada and we are both from Philippines.
She applied PR for family VISA and she already received the confirmation letter that she met the eligibility requirements. They gave 90days to complete the requirements which is BACKGROUND CHECK

But, till today nobody contacted me for back ground check, please enlighten me what is all about? and what is the status for our application and how long the process for background check.
