Hi everyone,
How are you,
I am new in the group,
I was our 3-hour virtual hearing and at the end, the member asked my lawyer for a written submission to be submitted no later than 2 weeks and his decision will be taken after receiving the written submission. Is that something bad? Any opinions or similar cases?
& how long later i get mail or Decision.?
Any one have idea about this?

Thank you

Doesn't the IRB member informs the claimant about positive or negative decision at the table?
Not for all applicants. Sometimes the board member needs more time to come to a decision. It doesnt necessarily mean its negative, it could just be that a 2-3 hour hearing didn’t give them enough time to have a decision ready.

The written NOD is something IRB sents to the claimant, right?

But in this case, the lawyer was asked to submit documents, that's my question. After 3 hour hearing, if anything is asked, does that mean negative or no decision reached yet?

written NOD is sent to the claimant but sometimes also the lawyer. If lawyer is asked to submit additional documents after the hearing that doesn't mean its negative. They probably need more information before they can come to a conclusion. Based on the documents submitted after the hearing, they will decide whether to approve or refuse the case. Its definitely not the most ideal situation but not the worst either.

Oh okay. Got it now. Seems a bit odd as I just heard it first time. That's why wanted to clarify. Thank you
It's fairly common for a decision not to be made in the actual hearing.
