About Application Number/Case Number to view application status

i am a out land applicant under spouse sponsorship , currently i live outside Canada and my spouse live in Canada. we applied 40 days ago on 9th march days ago via cic office Mississauga and for visa office New Delhi. we dont get any client id number/unique client id identifier or Application Number/Case Number yet to view our application status ? we dont know actually whats going on about our application and what time will it take to receive such identifier number so that we can view our application status ?
couldn't view application status in cic website by using RECEIPT NUMBER of applicaton payment for spouse sponsorship application. so really getting confuse in this case

also please share your experience specially who applied Via Mississauga cic office and New Delhi high Commission in such case .

I wasn't able to check the application status until I received my first correspondence from the visa office, which had my app number and UCI. I'm not sure if there is any other way you can check before getting correspondence, maybe someone else knows how

I am very confused why you are asking the same question and starting new threads asking the same question. Over and over you have been told that right now the average is 39 days. You may never hear from cic at that stage and perhaps for a long time. You have a minimum of 6-8 months of this ahead of you. Everyone here is very helpful but you need to respect their answers. You have a long way to go.
I wish I could give you the answer you want that would make you happy. You can phone cic but it will not change what you have been told.

Sous02 is right you just have to be patient. You can get general timelines but every application is different, some take longer and some are shorter. Hopefully you will hear something back from the visa office soon

Bunny, am reading your timeline right that you have been waiting more than a year now, through the Vienna office?

Their application is not quite standard, as the applicant is a failed refugee claimant, thus they need to get an ARC.

Yes unfortunately, Vienna has been quite good, it's Mississauga that took 6 months to get SA.. Because of some missing documents. Sent application in April, document request in July, sent documents in late August/ received early September and October got SA. It was our fault for not submitting the documents in the first place (medicals was one of them) so my husband has been in process at Vienna since October 2015. And exactly as MilesAway said, my husband was a failed refugee, just submitted ARC documents about a week ago, God knows how long this will take

Thank you for your kind words, it has been a very long and stressful process. I hope so too but it could be many more months while waiting for ARC. I hope your case is more straight forward, I see you recently sent your application. Good luck!
