Sous02 is right you just have to be patient. You can get general timelines but every application is different, some take longer and some are shorter. Hopefully you will hear something back from the visa office soon

That seems fine, I did something similar as well. What they mean is that the pages should not be stapled together, a paper clip is fine. You don't have to put doubles separately :)
