A trip planned but no PR Card received

hello, all my family members (four of them) planned a trip outside of Canada on July 24, 2019 (tickets bought)

They all became PRs on July 3, 2019 and three of them received their cards in the mail on July 10th, EXCEPT one of them. He still hasn’t received his PR card yet and his trip is only 5 days from now.

We called them and they said that the card was sent on July 8th. So now we are very worried that he won’t receive it on time, what can he do with this situation?

if you have RTD, you don't need a PR card to re-enter Canada

If you don’t have an RTD, you would be wise to wait to travel until you do. Don’t use your home country passport.

This was very risky to plan a trip so soon after receiving PR. You always have the option of getting a PRTD to get home but that could take a long time.

Are you sure about this? IRCC website says you need a PR card to re-enter.

He won’t be using home country’s passport ever, he has a RTD, is that good enough to make him re-enter Canada without a PR card?

Our time is very very limited, and the officer who issued CoPR put a note that we have a trip planned on the 24th so they could send the cards before that date which they did. They sent them ALL on the 8th of July, but for some reason we received everybody’s on the 10th but my brother’s.

Unfortunately there is never a guarantee that you can get PR cards expedited. It is pretty impressive that you got the rest of them that quickly. Unfortunately you took a risk when purchasing tickets so quickly. Hope it works out but it looks like it might have gotten stuck in the mail system somewhere and 2 of the days are on the weekend.

He received it today! He was about to cry and his sadness turned into happiness the moment he checked the mailbox 5 minutes ago. Thank God it all went as planned! Thank you everyone here for your help .
