A step closer to self administered oath: Online Oath Ceremony without an authorised individual 30 day Consultation

Has anybody seen an update in the news on self-administered oaths? The latest I could find was this update from March 27 implying things were still at a proposal stage:

As posted earlier in this post, we need to wait for the regulation and comments to be published in Part II of the Canada Gazette. Once it's published, it will go into effect on the date prescribed in the new regulation.

I agree... If it saves the government tax payer money and reduces processing time, it's the right move!

We'll have to wait to see how the draft rules will be amended after all the comments are taken into account. Watch out for Part II of the Gazette publication dates in the above post...

It's more likely to be published in the June publications (June 7 or June 21)

Hello will this pass soon , I am outside canada and missed one oath invite , I want to take from outside country due to personal reasons can’t travel

Oaths need to be conducted in Canada whether they are in-person or virtual. If/when self-administered oaths become a thing, those will also need to be carried out while you're physically in Canada. You may review canada.ca to check if an exception applies to you or speak to a lawyer.

But the gazette proposed says oath can be taken inside or outside canada , isn’t it true ?
