Hi All,

I am being sponsored by my wife for PR through Accra, Ghana. My medical and police certificate were submitted with the application in September 2009 (So it should expire by now). My interview is due in December and i was wondering if i can retake the medical and police certificate to avoid further delays? I am considering emailing them to ask the same question (I seem to be lucky getting quick responses from them!) but i figured it would make more sense to share my concern with all of you and hope for some useful help!

Thank you all in advance.

Your meds/police expired you will be asked to renew and with a letter saying such. They more then likely will request this at the interview.

You can but it's at your own risk. Having them done will avoid delays if they approve you after the interview. However, not doing them and then if they ask you to do your meds and get a new police clearance at the end of your interview, it is a positive indicator of acceptance which is kinda nice seeing as they don't always tell you if you are approved or not. If you email the embassy they will tell you not to do it because they have not made a decision on your file (that's the reason for the interview). They won't ask you to do the medicals until a positive decision has been made.

So the answer is yes, you can do this. BUT it will only be of use to you if you are approved. If you are refused, it is money down the drain. On a personal note, my husband and I decided to do this as well to avoid any more delays as it took forever to get to the interview stage. It paid off for us. If you decide to do it, I hope it pays off for you.

Thanks for your response. Thats exactly my point, will it make sense to redo the medical and police cert before it will be requested during the interview to avoid having to wait for another two to three months?
