A Question about Parents and Grandparents Super Visa

Hello fellow members,

Hopefully, this is the right place to ask some questions related to the Super Visa.

My mother only obtained a 6-month-stay, due to her almost expired travel insurance, under a super visa with her latest entrance of Canada. She was told that she could extend her stay with a renewed travel insurance should she choose to stay in Canada when the expiration approaches.

And, here is my question about how to extending her stay.

I was wondering if I could take her to one of the borders, with a renewed travel insurance, and get a new stamp at the border office, instead of sending her passport to the CIC, as it may take up to 77 days of processing time.

Thank you for your inputs in advance,

HQC

You should've applied for visa extension through CIC in advance prior to the expiry date. I haven't heard anybody sending their parents to the border for super visa status extention, unless is about PR requirements.
I could be wrong, however i know people from our community here that applied for super visa extention in advance within Ontario through citizenship and immigration Canada.

Even if you're late , meaning few more days, you can still do it call them and tell them the truth, maybe you forgot, ask them how can you do it quickly they will let you know. People done it before. Got 6 more months extension.
