A proof of accommodation for Spouse's Entry

Hi,

If someone can help on this topic I would be grateful!!!!

My wife's applying for a TRV . I am a full time student at SMU Halifax. Is it necessary for me to show my name in a lease agreement as proof of accommodation for my wife's TRV to be approved.

She is visiting as a self sponsored visitor. So is it absolutely necessary . Please confirm.

Not required for visitors visa! For me it was important to inform for student visa. My brother is living with his canadian wife and he has sponsored my accommodation,food and all the living expenses. ;D
