Hi,

I have received my offer letter from one University and will be applying for visa soon.
Can I show my fathers provident fund (he's a government officer) as proof of fund for education as I am not very keen on taking a loan. I will, if that's the last option though. I will also be purchasing GIC for living expense proof, but do I need to show proof of fund for housing/accommodation as well? I plan to look for accommodation after applying for visa. I haven't decided if I will be living in student residence or rent somewhere. Is it a bad idea? Should I make arrangement for accommodation before applying for visa and show the proof to the visa officer?

No need to make any arrangements before getting the visa.
Your fathers funds is fine just make sure you include all the required documents as proof these should be in the paper based application instructions for your country on ircc website.
