I have applied for a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship (Proof of Citizenship) and my application was received by CIC Sydney on June 15. I waited for several weeks to get the acknowledgment letter and then on the advice of a CIC call Center Agent, (who told me that most likely my application has been misplaced!, and rather than try to trace it I was better off to submit a new application). I couriered this new application on August 6th. In both applications I requested urgent processing. Then, miraculously, on August 20. I received a letter of acknowledgment dated July 30th (meaning that they were responding to the first not the second application).
According to the CIC site after we receive the letter of acknowledgment we can follow the processing of the application on line. Unfortunately this is not the case. I called CIC today to find out what happened with the urgent processing request and the processing of my application three and a half months later. To my surprise although I gave my Unique Client Identification Number he could not find the application but was able to find the payment of Fees Receipt. To my question «What to do now? » the answer was «Wait a bit».
Has anyone had an experience like this? Do you think an immigration consultant or lawyer would be able to trace this better than me? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
