I overpayed because I mixed up the amounts.. I ended up paying $1100 instead if $1040. I received an email from CIC about 4 days after AOR, that they were issuing a refund of $60 and that was that. 5 minutes later I received an email with my sponsorship approval.
As long as you paid enough to cover the fees, there shouldn't be a problem and they will refund you no problem.
