Hi guys, I'm about to finish filling in my profile but I have a few questions before I do (some of these questions might be obvious but its better to be safe than sorry!)
1) I know we have to have worked a minimum of 1560 hours to qualify, is that including vacation days or do I have to subtract those hours?
2) If I'm applying through CEC, I'm under the impression that I don't need proof of funds. But do you know if there is a minimum amount of funds that they usually look for because they still ask how much money I'll have when I activate my PR.
3) My job is not LMIA exempt, but I'm expecting a promotion to a type 0 skilled job, surely that counts for something? Should I just include my written job offer for the sake of it?
4) I work for a company who don't include a job description in their Letter of Emplyment/ Verification of employment, it's just not apart of the template that they use for all employees so they can't make me an exception. They just tell me to find the job description on the website and send that. Would that actually be valid proof if I printed it and got my manager to sign it, and then send it along with the Letter of Employment from HR?
5) I was assistant manager at a cafe before I came to Canada. It was an independent business and rtherefore a little less formal and organised than a big company. What proof of employment should I tell me ex-manager to dig up? Will she have to find some pay slips or anything like that?

Thanks!

I'll help with a few questions:

1) You can count vacations if they were paid vacations. Otherwise you have to subtract them.
2) No proof of funds is required for CEC.
3) It only counts for something if you have an approved LMIA.

5) Yes - you should provide pay slips and a work experience letter just like you would for any other job.

Thank you! Ho many pay stubs would you say would suffice? 3 months? 6 months?

1) I know we have to have worked a minimum of 1560 hours to qualify, is that including vacation days or do I have to subtract those hours?

That is true if you work part-time. If you work full-time (30 or more hours per week), you simply need to work for one year (52 weeks). Paid vacation counts, unpaid leave of absence does not.

2) If I'm applying through CEC, I'm under the impression that I don't need proof of funds. But do you know if there is a minimum amount of funds that they usually look for because they still ask how much money I'll have when I activate my PR.

Not required.

3) My job is not LMIA exempt, but I'm expecting a promotion to a type 0 skilled job, surely that counts for something?

CEC class is based on a pass/fail system of work already completed - in the past. What happens in the future cannot be assessed.

For EE points, a "valid job offer" does add points, but the LMIA is (usually) required. You would have to be more specific about the type of LMIA-exempt work permit you have.

Should I just include my written job offer for the sake of it? Confusing. Your old job offer letter, or for the future job which I thought you didn't have yet?

4) I work for a company who don't include a job description in their Letter of Emplyment/ Verification of employment, it's just not apart of the template that they use for all employees so they can't make me an exception. They just tell me to find the job description on the website and send that. Would that actually be valid proof if I printed it and got my manager to sign it, and then send it along with the Letter of Employment from HR?

If possible, just get one complete letter from your manager. No reason it has to be from HR.

5) I was assistant manager at a cafe before I came to Canada. It was an independent business and rtherefore a little less formal and organised than a big company. What proof of employment should I tell me ex-manager to dig up? Will she have to find some pay slips or anything like that?

Same as any other job, letter of reference and supporting documents. Each country has its own array of possible documents (e.g. equivalents of the T4...)

Thank you for your response!
In regards to the LMIA- exempt work permit, I'm on an IEC working holiday visa. Somewhere it says that it means my job is exempt, but I've heard conflicting opinions.
& when I say my job offer I do mean the one I haven't gotten yet but expect to receive soon.
