Hi Guys!
I need some advice on what to do when all citizenship applications of my family have application status: Cancelled.

Some details:

I sent my citizenship family application on 4 Apr 2022. I've got AOR on April 28, 2022 for each
application in the family package.

Today we got an email:
"Thank you for submitting your application for a grant of Canadian citizenship. Your application was created in our system on April 19, 2022 and is currently in progress"

So, I log in to the status tracker and see the information:

"Your citizenship application status Updated: May 3, 2022
Your application status: Cancelled
Application history:
Apr 19, 2022 Application filed. We have received your application and have begun to process your application. Information about next steps and required action items will be coming soon."

What does mean "Your citizenship application status: Cancelled"? I didn't do anything.
What should I do now?

No personal experience but I believe at least when it comes to PR applications, canceled means a rejected application. (Recently read a post on the PR forum someone got this status update when they lacked a police certificate on their application.) That being said a rejection seems very unlikely in your case given the fact you only recently filled the application .
Even if you were missing a documentation shouldn't be rejected so soon without an opportunity to send the documents.

Do you have a copy of the mailed application? Did you fill out all the required fields and also didn't forget to sign the application?

Even if it's an error, I'd call IRCC as well as submit a webform to avoid any delays.

iceman55, thank you for the reply!

I've managed to speak with an IRCC agent. I've been told that the reason for cancelling is an incomplete application.
So I need to wait, then I will get my papers back. It could last weeks.

Ohh, sorry to hear that! Make sure you have another set of eyes look at your documents and checklist second time around. Stuff like that can happen, hopefully you won't be missing any documents next time.

This is weird. They issued you AOR and then cancelled the application? (My understanding was that for citizenship they only issue AOR if the docs are all complete). Any update? What was missing?

The last update:
I've got the AORs from IRCC with the NEW application numbers. I checked the tracker - the applications are in progress.
Maybe my calls and a report through web form did help.

I hope the time the appication will be processed the right way.

Thanks guys for support!!
