Hello,

I have some general question for form A-0546-GF

I am being sponsored by my common law spouse (Canadian citizen,) for a permanent residence application, and am currently at the second stage - Undertaking application (for Quebec.) Our French is not really up to scratch, so we have one or two slight ambiguities in some of our translations.

First of all, I am not sure if I should be filling in section 4/4.1, "Information on the family members of the principal sponsored person"

"Spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or conjugal partner (if applicable)"

Do I (sponsored person) need to fill in this section with the details of my common law partner? (sponsor) (This seems a little recursive)

And "Does this person accompany you to Quebec?" - This sounds like we would be travelling to Quebec, instead of living there already (which we are.)

Secondly, I am a little confused about this. From section 5 onwards, there are two sets of tick boxes, one for the sponsor (fine,) and one for the co-guarantor - Am I (sponsored person) allowed to be the co-guarantor? If not, should I just leave this blank?

Lastly, the checklist (A-1520-BF) says I need to print out and have signed two copies of this form. Is there something very important that I'm missing here? Is this two identical copies of the same form? Or should the two forms be filled in from different perspectives? Also, there doesn't seem to be anywhere for me (the sponsored person) to sign - would this be at the bottom (co-guarantor signature) ??

Thanks for taking the time to listen to this confused Anglophone!

I'm dealing with the same form right now. What did you end up doing with 4.1? I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my American spouse. I'm already in Quebec, they're in the US.

We have dual citizen kids who are with me. In 4.2 I think I'm supposed to list them, with a ''no'' to the column that says ''will accompany the sponsored person''. Did you have the same situation?

Thanks

Hi friends,

Any advice on this question? I'm facing the same problem to fill out my forms ;)
I ended up putting my information in 4.1 as the spouse even though I'm the sponsor and, based on advice i saw elsewhere on this forum, answered "yes" to the accompanying question.

4.2 I did not list the dual citizen children (put n/a) following the principle that I wasn't supposed to list them on the federal forms either (since they're Canadian too).

No returned forms so far so I'll keep hoping that was right.

Hi!

At what point do you know it's time to apply for the quebec part of the process?? All me and my partner have received so far is my AOR..."renataQC" I see you only applied for CSQ once you had received Sponsorship Approval (SA)...Is that the sequence it's meant to happen in???

I hope you don't get any returned forms since I'll be able to learn from your success :)

Hi,

In the letter from Immigration Canada that said I was approved as a sponsor, and also informed us that the application had been sent to CPC Mississauga, there was a whole paragraph about applying for the CSQ. You'll need to put a copy of that letter with your CSQ application. So, I would suggest you work on your Quebec forms now, to be ready to send them ASAP when you get your SA.

I wish us all success! :D:D
