8 months passed and no reply for security check

Dear,

Is it normal to a sponsorship file to take 8 months and more of security check verification?

I know people who had that happened to them.
They weren't contacted for a year after background check started.

They applied April 2016 inland.

What are your timelines? Inland or outland?
 
A lot of the delays result from slow responses from organizations outside Canada. The application won't be finalized until they are completed.
 
Actually, I am living now outside Canada in Lebanon and My wife in Montreal, I firstly applied on Dec 2015, They start processing on 20/May/2016, I have an interview on 1 June 2016 for the reason that they lost my file as they said, I have the second interview on Nov/2016.
The Security Check began on Dec 2016 and till the moment no response.

The question is that they requested for the RPRF fees about 20 days ago while we are waiting for the verification, is this a sign to have the visa soon?
Second, I have traveled before to three countries (Kurdistan/ Turkey and Jordan), Is this may be a cause for the security check to be delayed more?

Knowing that every time we send an email, they reply that still pending verification and they understand my patience.

They started background check April 2017 still waiting for visa Spouse is in Cuba
 
I am also stuck in background check nearly 8months. Applied on April 2016. Still no update

According to friends, this is pretty normal.

She applied April 2016 but landed this month. Whole process too 15 months for her.

What is your timeline @Nakaa ?
 
Applied on April 2016. The eligibility passed following the interview on Dec, 2016. Since then i am stuck in background check, in the meantime my medical expired. For now i am waiting the VO (new delhi) to complete the checking hopefuly Soon and next steps in this application will be determined therefater (remedical) maybe or direct will get passport request letter.

But i really dont know how longer the background check will take. I am Afghan live in Pakistan.

okay i think the timelines will be different, she applied inside Canada
 
Thanks God, my security verification has finished today after 8 months of waiting from Lebanon, but they wrote in the Email, "sec to be passed then ready for RFV", so please can you guide me what this means and how much it may take time?

Is it Second to be passed in the security check and be Ready for Visa? or something like this

Wow Congrats bro. RFV (Ready For Visa), i think you should bear a little more time to remedical and get your passport request letter thereafter.

But mine is still pending.
