67 points worth applying for PR - FSW?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of applying for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker category (NOC 2174 - Software Developer).
Since I just got my results from my IELTS test, my point calculation is as follows:

Language:
-Listening: 8.0
-Reading: 7.5
-Writing: 7.5
-Speaking: 6.5
-Overall: 7.5

Points: 23

Education:
Points: 21 (bachelor's degree)

Experience:
Points: 11 (2-3 years)

Age:
Points: 12 (24 yrs old)

Arranged Employment:
Points: 0

Adaptability:
Points: 0

Total: 67 points

However, I wonder is if it is really worth submitting my application or it if it will most likely get denied since I barely have the minimum requirement.

Seeing as you have your IELTS done already, it doesn't cost anything but time to see if you can be in the pool, might as well!

How many points to you have under Express Entry? Have you calculated that yet?

My friend, you need to calculate using the new CRS out of 1200. But I did it for you, assuming you are single.

Your CRS Score is 387.

The least point draw was 450 this year, still a few more draws to go though but not many are expecting it to be below 400, if at all.

So, I suggest you retake the IELTS. Score higher, get a CLB 9 and try again.

Congratulations, you are qualified for FSW program.

But you cannot apply directly because Since 1st January, 2015 CIC has introduced a new program called Express Entry.

it seems to be qualified under EE so try to create one...and see how many score...that might give you an idea if your scores are high enough..

In the last Draw, the minimum cut off was 489.

or

by PNP (600 additional points)

He might try to get any PNP to get ITA more easily.

Its very hard to get PNP invitation under 400 unless he is applying separately for PNP...

You are right, for Ontario its difficult to get PNP having score under 400,
but he may apply for Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick
as these Provinces have streams (without job offer)

yes...!! But i don't know if those provinces are selecting applicants from EE...?

I mean, I see two ways to improve my CRS:

1) Wait 6 months until I have fully 3 years work experience.
2) Improve IELTS scores.

but I could give it a shot in the meantime.

You can do that.
Meanwhile I would suggest you to keep an eye on the Provincial Nominations (Easiest/Shortest Path of Immigration)
