5 year old application

Hello!

We got our visas after 6 years. We didn't ask the embassy for any updates and just waited for it. There's even one time we forget all about it not until we get a request for medical. I think that those who applied before changes were made in the procedures really takes 5-6 years to process but i heard if you applied now its faster.

@Albert - congrats! and good luck on your new life...when do you plan to leave for toronto? we will also be landing there and im getting very good infos on requirements from this site. Are you moving alone or family?

@june14 & zsashimi - just be patient and don't think too much about it. Im sure results will come soon.

JRN- Congratulations!!! wow. you already got your visa... target date would be second week of November.. we are still waiting for the return of our passports with stamped visa on it.. he he he..sana in a month's time.. Only me and my wife will be going to toronto..Wish you all the best life in Canada!

April 04 applied by dropbox at Canadian Embassy Manila / June 04 recieved File # / Oct 08 follow up letter requesting for updates / Dec 09 letter requesting for medical / Mar 10 letter requesting for passport submission / May 10 got our passport stamp with visas and COPR / Sep 10 planning for landing
We are really exicted and looking forward to start a new life in Canada. I know it will not be easy but its an opportunity we have to take for our son's future.

@JRN: A friend of mine left last year with his family. It was hard for them (adults) to adjust unlike their kids who seem to absorb their environment that quickly. He said the exact words as you. That is grab the opportunity for their children's future

No up dates yet... we applied as FSW wherein my husband is the principal. To be exact, submitted mar 1, 2005 apr 1, 2005 in process apr 15, 2005 lthen nov 2008 regarding refund. Now i'm working on my resume & covering letter, i'll be sending them this week end i saw some job vacancies at ontario & calgary on my qualification. i just try... i don't see anything wrong. i just look at the bright side..now my resume & covering letter are canadian standard ;D we are still keeping our jobs and our children are still in school. as usual. how about you?

I did the same thing.. I submitted my resume and cover letter online.. I even went to the extend of going to Vancouver last May-June in hope of being called for the job but unfortunately, all I got was they need someone who can legally work in Canada ASAP..

Is that so? but (my resume) it's out already, anyway it's better to do something than nothing. And I agree, 5 years is long enough but we have no choice but to wait & pray that all our plans will fall into place in Gods perfect time.

I think it depends on the skill.. I was applying for Mainframe programmer.. Mainframe Programmer in Vancouver is not Marketable.. I mean because most IT jobs are being outsourced to Asian countries.. So that may have been one reason why I was not considered...

But still, I have been sending out my resume.. who knows i might get lucky this time..
