Do not wish to digress further and that dictionary reference only served to prove the point I was trying to make.
H1b holders are, in a very real sense, slaves only to their own personal aspirations as they can pack their bags and leave at will. They are dependent upon personal wish fulfilment and controlled by their own desires. In that extremely limited sense, it is indeed slavery. But to oneself. Which isn't bad at all. And which is the key difference.
The connotation in that message though was that US corporations and/or the government employ/treat H1b as slave labor which is even more ludicrous than your ludicrous attempt to support that ludicrous assertion by terming my interjection as ludicrous. I don't think any H1b holder was imported, detained or forced against their will to enter or continue to stay in the US. This forum is a microcosm of the society at large and it is certainly not encouraging to see such comments from temporary residents in NA who feel they are entitled to some specific things when it's clearly a quid pro quo situation.
I had to say what I did and I'm done here now.
