A lot of the UK's overpopulation problems are due to its own infrastructural mistakes. London should look something like Tokyo or Singapore by now, with huge apartment buildings and skyscrapers everywhere but it doesn't. Most of London's population live in old Victorian houses and hence a lot of land is wasted. To a lesser degree, the same applies to many of the UK's other urban centres e.g. Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh etc. Those are fixable problems for sure but they really need to be fixed before Britain's population further expands.

I don't think they are closing doors. They are just reviewing the old immigration system so as to bring more skilled talents in the country.

I may not have spent the amount of time you have in the UK, but I've been there many times and seen large amounts of open space outside of the urban centers. I can't tell about the infrastructure in terms of the healthcare system, etc... because I haven't done the research. Some people would say that NYC is overpopulated, but I would disagree with that as well. A country with such a small population, would need info to back that up, and not one off political commentators saying "we're overpopulated, shut the gates." I might take India or China at face value, when you have a 1 billion+ population

I tried it. I studied there for 2 years and worked for 2 years and then had to leave because of the stupid lottery system for H1B.

And last yr before the immigration target announcement "THE GOVT OF CANADA'S" advisory council on economic growth I repeat not me "THE GOVT OF CANADA'S advisory council on economic growth urged the immigration minister to increase the target of immigration gradually to 450K per year in next 5 yrs.
And even the immigration miniater at that time McCullum agreed that canada want more immigration and in future we can see higher number of immigration target if not 450K but still would be more than now.

Look at this McCullum clearly said that this number is conceivable in future and agreeing to it. So whom so ever is thinking that canada will cut its target or close the door is day dreaming.

I've been seeing lately a few people on this forum complaining, saying that Canada is not that nice, it doesn't have that many jobs... people saying one should only try moving to Canada if one have nothing to lose and so on... I've been trying to understand that because it doesn't make sense to me.
I was able to see that in general, those people saying that, are the ones that maybe applied for immigration from their home country with high expectations on getting a job fast, as someone said here "have employers waiting for them at the airport". People are moving to a new country, where they have ZERO connections, and expect to find a job in a week (btw, that guy that got a job in a week had the skills, but c'mon... that was also luck! lol).
Anyways, the canadian job market is mostly networking: you need to know people in order to get a nice job.
I came from a developing country and I moved to Canada to study. Having a post-grad diploma in my home country is a huge deal for a person. But here in Canada, it's not. Everyone has one or more. People here in general study much much more than people in my home country - and I bet Brazil is not alone in this one.
That means if you want to have a nice job in Canada, you gotta study, perfect your English skills and your technical skills according to your field. And meet people - lots of people.

Mine says 'Not applicable' at present.
I'm not able to tell you precisely... I'm doing my process with a lawyer and I asked for status this week and saw that the BG check was in progress. So not sure if changed right after the meds passed or later.
