4 months since medicals done but no reply yet. Disappointing !!!!!

hey guys my brother sent meds and ppt on 24th dec and today he recived a cll from embassy, she interviewd for 25 mins on phone.....now plz tell me what to do

Date of visa notification : still waiting
Date of submitting passports : --------

I have never been to Canada or the US. I am from Jordan and I live in Dubai now. Just two countries : Jordan and the UAE.

I started to hate this phrase " routine background checks" Every time I send an-mail, the answer will be " We' re doing routine background check"

Hi Besho,

I see that your date of application is Jan 2007, are you under the regular process? FSW Applications filed after 28 Feb 2008 and which meet certain criteria are processed under fast track.

I know I also got the same "routine background checks" story each time I raise and enquiry.

still "inprocess" exactly 3 months completed .Passport reached on feb 12th 2010.Still waiting .Assuming 3 more months of wait will be there.

Guys please keep posting your status....as we all under stupid security check.....so it will give us little motivation....and some idea about process.
I have submitted passport on 2nd feb & still waiting.......Really disappointed and frustrated.... I am going to start explore other options for my future as i donot know their decision and can't hang like that.

@ pkakula.....Securiy check can take as much as time until immigration officer are not satisfied.....at least i am just fed up with their process.....They should not ask for medical and passport until they are not convinced with our application.

Yeah rite they should not ask for passports and medical unti they are ready to give us permanent residence.

I read from some where that they CSIS can contact local intelligence agency to verify our background......and it can take even more than year to do background investigation........

Hey PPS7, even I have heard that background checks can take anything from 6 months to a year or in some cases more than that. I will be completeing 5 months in the next 2 weeks. There are a couple of reasons for the delay frequent foreign travel being one. I guess that my reason for such detailed checks -> delay

Its been exactly 2 months since CHC has recd my PP. Did put a query 10 days ago but no answer. Hope things work out this month or else will have to look for some options.

I am terribly disappointed with CIC and the system . Its been 3 months and i have not recieved my passport. I had an oppurtunity to go to usa this month but unfortunately i had no passport and i could not go to usa . If this is the case then i am going to write then saying i dont need Pernanat visa and just ask them my passport.

Wait bro, control your emotions.....donot write any thing to them except for update.....as already they have some doubt on our application.

You have to go to USA, but i was in Canada and still have valid work permit till oct......i applied on my wife name coz I heard ND is quite fast and i also want my family to join as early as possible.....But i am just struck here.......

So it is life....if good time does not last forever.....then bad time will also end soon. So let them check what they want to check. But i am also totally agree with you that they should not ask for passport until they are sure to grant visa.

Don't do something which you wud regret latter. I know its frustating ... its been for me, even I have had similar thoughts many a times. If you need ask them if they can return your passport back to be submitted latter on whenever needed so that you can make your trip to USA.
