Hi maharlika,

I checked crnm website and it is stated there that they do not require practice hours from applicants who have graduated from a basic nursing program within the past four years. This is a problem on my part. Do you have enough working experience?

Those who are done with their application in Manitoba, would you mind sharing your experience and how the college decided on your case. Thank you.

kanebo,

what makes it a problem? i guess it's not...crnm do not require practice hours to those applicants who do not exceed five years from graduation and i believe that is a plus factor, me.. i have more ten years of practice already but i am not yet confident because crnm pa rin ang mag decide...am just hoping na sana everything will come out favorable for me.

as for requirements, yes crnm wont start the process with any docs missing but once the first five requirements reached their office they will give file number..

maharlika,

Where did you get the info that it is five and not four years from the time of graduation? Would you mind sharing the link? I graduated Nov 2006 and that one year would make a big difference.

This is the link where I read that it is 4 years, go to question no. 8...http://www.crnm.mb.ca/applicants-international-faqs.php

kanebo,

yah..u r right, it stated there 4 years, i remember it was used to be 5 years...perhaps it has changed or cguro na mis read ko yon...sori ha

1. no.

but depends on which category you are applying for? Registered nurse or registered practical nurse.
they will assess you application and tell you which clinical education areas missing , then you have to take bridging programs ..like me , i haven't completed long term care and they definitely will ask me to do bridging programe on long term care...finally this all depends on you application,,,they might happy about your education and clinical practice and let you take CRNE... keep your hope.
#medical-surgical
#obstetrics
#pediatric
#mental health/psychiatry
#community
#long term care

if you apply for RPN they might strait let you take CRNE. RN assessment is bit strictly than RPN.they are asking university degree for RN, but if your education is good as uni degree, have good theory and practical hours they might consider your application.if not you have to go for a RPN.

this all what i learned from various sites ..i am not a senior though, please ask suggestions from others.
if i am wrong please advise me on this..
all the best for you.

hi guys!!

im also an RN and read some of the post here and it seems like applying as an RN in canada is so rigorous compare to US. im also a USRN as many of you guys here but for now bound for canada to reunite with my family. has anyone here have an idea if we got PR from canada then is it possible for us to work in USA? i know that we need to be in canada for 730 days( correct me if im wrong) if we are a PR holder. has anyone here experienced such a thing? PR in canada but work as nurse in US.

thanks!!

I beleive you can still work in the US, though I am not there in US nor I dont know someone doing that stuff this is what I know. I work here in the UAE and I have co-workers that have the emmigrant visa and still continue their job here.
