HI, I am a 2nd courses too, i applied in CARNA way back 2009 and it took them 6 months exactly to process my application. NOte that when i filed my application all the requirements have been submitted and received by the College within a month period.

I think assessment for both single coursers and 2nd coursers are the same, either of the two, they will still require you to take the SEC assessment coz they are very strict with their standards.

what about CNO how do they assess the second courser?
do they have SEC assessment too? or BET does the same?

@CaribiaRN
I see, I undrestand that BET will be individualized.

@jijitiepi

I confirmed General IELTS module with a E mail. they definitely accept General.

Fellow nurses,

It is really quick to find job if you have the license. I passed the CRNE which I took last October 6 in Winnipeg. Two days ago I received e mail from the HR of the hospital who is hiring me, that my Labor Market Opinion has been approved by HRSDC. Soon I will be filing for a working visa. My PR application seems deeply asleep. Go for that license guys!!!God Bless Us All.

Hi aspire! I was browsing the messages and I saw yours,Im just wondering what hosp sponsored you?
my sister is a nurse,and shes working on her nursing registration,shes bound for Winnipeg,Manitoba hopefully this march. :)

Hi,

My partner is also a nurse. And we dont know what to do on how can she practice her proffession in canada when we land there. Do you know guys what are the steps?

Thanks in advance,
DMB

Hi Aspire, Ia lready received last December from the CRNM to go for Competency Exam for maternal Nursing, Child Health, General Nursing and Self Assessment. Hai, may SEC na rin pala sa manitoba. Have to prepare for the assessment. Moving to Manitoba by march. Musta ka na Aspire. nasa Winnipeg ka na ba?

This is sad because I myself am regretting because I did not pass my application last year in Manitoba and starting January 1 their fee increased from $100 something to $525...and this is a lot. We received our visa last September and I've got no choice since we are landing in Winnipeg this April I might as well start my application now so as not to waste time. Do you think they have adopted SEC now just like what other provinces are doing? I do hope other Filipino nurses who had applied in Manitoba recently would share their experiences and results of their assessments.

To maharlika, Rene_8000, rogue2578, jasonprovido: Hey guys, what's the status of your application with Manitoba? Are you done with your assessments yet? Would you mind sharing them? I am scheduled to take IELTS Academic tomorrow and once result is released I will already pass my application. I am a second courser and November 2006 graduate, do you think nursing experience or practice hours is already required since it has been more than 4 years already? Hope to hear from you soon...Could you PM me your email addresses. Thanks.

To Aspire: Congratulations! Would you mind sending me your mail address too? When are you planning to land in Winnipeg? Hope to meet you there. Thanks.

your partner needs a license to practince nursing as a RN or RPN in canada Depending where you decided to live and work you must hurryup and apply for registration few months before landing.
you may find this link usefull.

Hi maharlika,

When did you apply your IQAS? This may be causing the delay coz I believe that they will only start assessment once they have received all requirements and IQAS is one of them. When did you graduate and how many practicing hours do you have for the past 5 years? I hope you will get response from the soon. Let's update each other, k? Thanks.

Hi maharlika,

I checked crnm website and it is stated there that they do not require practice hours from applicants who have graduated from a basic nursing program within the past four years. This is a problem on my part. Do you have enough working experience?

Those who are done with their application in Manitoba, would you mind sharing your experience and how the college decided on your case. Thank you.

I think we both are in same boat..

OK I got it what is SEC. Actually, that's what the assessment package I was saying have requested from CNO. based on the assessment they will give the decision.

So I am waiting for the assessment package now.

prospective - Thanks for joining queue..

Hi mdarji,

I am a Filipino RN. How did u contact CNO for them to assess u? Besides from calling to them through phone, are there any ways? Thanks:)
