MELAB and CELBAN are available in canada. they can be used instead of IELTS, actually many applicant prefer them to IELTS. but if you can do something in advance why not? if you have time take IELTS now and save time.

Hello Far, Im a nurse applicant also of july 2011. I saw your timeline and I am very sure u can answer my query because ur in canada already.

Hi I'm new to this forum.
I have applied for 3152 category in September 2011 ( rejected ) and am thinking to apply again in July 1st this year.
I wanted to get my original documents back but it seems impossible.

Is anyone get your application package back after rejected??

Thanks!

gina pie,

they usually take 6-7 weeks to return your passport. Oh no, No Chance of rejection at this point. RELAX :)

green0407,

Write to your VO to get the original documents. Mention your File # and other detail.

Thanks Nath, Is it ok to write CEM if they really received my Passport?

gina,

how did you submit the passport, in person or sent it through a courier?
if you did it the 2nd way, then track the delivery using its track number.

Then how do i get it? From where?
My aplication pack has to tick for rn or lpn
Thanks

if u go through the forms nothing specific they ask just address and some demographic facts thats all

I think the form may be the same for RN and LPN. the first form says Payment Information and you need to tick either RN or RPN. And also the fee for RN is 678$ CAD and for RPN is 226$ CAD. (not sure if anythig has changed recently. I sent my forms in sep 2011.)

About IELTS after I sent my initial forms with payment to CNO I went to the IELTS office and told them to send my scores directly to CNO. They will charge some amount for it. You should not enclose any IELTS TRF or score sheet to CNO directly.

The CNO acknowledged my initial application letter and even the receipt of the IELTS scores.

Now I am busy sending my 2nd set of forms.

I am not sure if we need to send IELTS again before taking the CNRE. May be when I reach that stage I will know.

@ chandi2564

i think in the first page of the form there is one item there that asked if what are you going to take you will mark either RPN or RN,

for english proficiency of you already passed IELTS or other english ptoficiency accepted by CNO include it in your package if not you can take your english after you lan in canada or after your exam..

Hi Friends,

I will be landing in Toronto on March 27th. Looking forward to see the new place and getting ready for the new experience. Thought I am excited, a little worried about the survival jobs. All the while being in nursing, I was just thinking what many jobs we can do actually.

Can anyone who is already there and not into active nursing (waiting for assessment from CNO to take up CNRE etc) are doing exactly? What jobs can I take up and how soon can I find something?

My CNO process started in Sep 2011 and after the initial acknowledgement, I got the second package with B4 forms on Feb 27th 2012. Now I am sending these to my previous employers and registration council etc. Hectic time finishing all the paper work. But I am happy I got the package at the right time as I can finish sending all that before I leave India.

Then my plan is with the survivial job I will wait for the CNO assessment (hopefully a positive one) after which I will do CNRE then take up nursing again in Toronto.

I want to thank ena for guiding me in this forum. I do not know if you are still active in this forum

Seniors please share and advice which will be very helpful.

HI Lika

You're most welcome. It was my pleasure to be of help because I know how it feels when you need it and there's no one to turn to.
Don't worry I still check this link despite of busy schedule at work.

There are lots of opportunity here in Toronto as long as you're willing to do it. You can apply to employment agencies or try the government services for newcomers. They are most willing to guide you with whatever you need even housing, child minding or language training. We do have language training specifically for nurses or any other occupation. (OSLT-occupation specific language training conducted by George Brown College and Centennial College; free of charge. This is a gov't initiative for newcomer)

I wish you goodluck. You can drop me a note when you're here. We will see what you can do while you're waiting for your assessment.

And finally WELCOME TO CANADA and have a safe trip....

Ena

Hi Chandi2564,

No need to send your IELTS result with your package because CNO would only accept IELTS result sent directly by your testing center. If your score qualifies the requirement of CNO, then request your testing center to send additional TRF to CNO. They may require some payment but sure enough it will be accepted by CNO. Don't wait till you receive your assessment result, it may take longer. IELTS result expires in two years, so while it's still valid, request your testing center to send to CNO.

By the way, IELTS is just one of the requirements to be nurse in Ontario.
