Hi Experts,

I am from India. My wife n myself decided to have future in Canada. Hence we applied for Canadian study permit for my wife. She got it in 2011 and later after she received, I applied for dependent visa which got rejected. My wife was studying in Sececa college for General business for 2 yrs. Its a diploma course.

Later in july 2012 I applied for Tourist Visa. Even dat got rejected. Same year in 2012 Nov I applied for George brown college, However got admission but rejection on Visa continued.

At present my wife is on Graduate work permit which she got after completion of studies. She was on 2 yrs study permit and she has got 3 yrs work permit from Feb 2013. At present she is working as Shift Manager for Pizza Hurt. She has offer letter and other details related to her job.

I am worried how I can come to Canada. Its been 3 yrs now and I never Had a family life. I am very much looking forward for better life & future in Canada. I have traveled in UK & USA for work and I never had any rejections beside Canada, even have I dont have any criminal records in my own and countries of visit. I Have completed Hotel management Diploma and has more then 7 yrs of experience.

Pls suggest.............

why havent you tried OWP Spouse? - if she is working in a skilled job, that is an option for you. Check her NOC level and that will be a good start.
Good luck!

Dear Sir ( Canadahelp 7)

Firstly thank for prompt reply. At present she is working on graduate work permit with Pizza Hurt, Which she got in the month of Feb 2013. I mean we were planning to apply for PR next year but Shift Manager is no longer available for CEC class. That job falls under NOC 6211- Retail Sales Supervisor.

Pls assist how can we apply for open work permit. As I am in India an my wife in Canada. Will it work ?

Please give us the process in details so that we don't miss any steps.

Looking forward to hear from you sir. Thanks again for assistance.

Best Regards

I am not sure about the duties your wife performs but managers have not been excluded from CEC as long as you fulfill the duties of the manager...

have you looked into this..

as far as your visa goes, it's gonna be really hard for you to get a straight visa because you have had three rejections in a short period of time...

for that matter your wife's NOC may have been excluded from the list of NOC's for CEC but it is still a skilled position as canadahelp7 mentioned.

Certain manager NOCs are now excluded from CEC:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

•Food service supervisors (NOC 6311)
•Retail sales supervisors (NOC 6211)

What if your wife gets a permanent job offer with LMO in the skilled NOC category and applies for FSW or PNP. Wouldn't that work?

Would you mind sharing reasons for rejection? Were you able to overcome those reasons in subsequent applications? Did you apply for GCMS notes to further understand why they came to the decision? This might help for the future. Good luck.

I maybe wrong but I think managers are eligible because they fall under NOC O of the matrix:

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/html/matrix.html

Excerpt from matrix:

060 Corporate sales managers
062 Retail and
wholesale trade
managers
063 Managers in food
service and
accommodation
065 Managers in
customer and
personal services, n.e.c.

But then again it also depends on your duties

I am not sir :)
To your question, CEC is a way to apply for PR but what I have suggested is to apply for Open work permit - this is allowed if your partner works in a skilled category. Scylla has already posted the link, check the section " If your spouse wants to work in Canada". Follow the link to gather the documents and is a better option for you now. With the three rejections, it will be a good idea to put your documents together and follow the instructions.

Dear Taru

They have given me several reason for rejection. First Application which got rejected was Dependent and the reason where No job, Less financial back up, Family tie up in Canada and lastly what is the reason to go to canada

The same was repeated when applied for tourist

However the last rjeceton for study hey gave a reason dat the course which i took in george brown college is not suitable for my career. i took course food and beverage management. I am from the same field working for past 8 years
