Hi guys
I currently live in Scotland and I have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have recently graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management and I speak fluent French.
I have looked at applying for permanent visas recently for the future and I am confused about the adaptability section points system. I understand that points can be earned from your spouse if they have certain education and language levels. I am 21 years old and single, therefore I have no spouse. I do not have arranged employment or family living in Canada so I would not receive any points for this section from what I can see - which would effectively stop me from being eligible.
Are there differences in points requirements for those applying with no spouse? I find it strange that someone can earn 10 points from having a spouse with education and language requirements but that those without a spouse lose points in this area - who could still be strong applicants.
Does a spouse also need to be a wife/husband. I plan to move with my brother who will have the exact same points scoring as me in two years after he finishes education. If we were to apply to move together could he be classified as a spouse as we would be living and moving together? I understand this is unlikely but could points be earned from moving with a family member in this way?
Thanks.
