From January to July 2025, IRCC made 266,800 PR decisions and welcomed 246,300 new permanent residents, aligning with the 2025 target of 395,000 admissions.
At this point, only the March-April 2023 applications are likely to be processed by the end of the year. Things are moving painfully slow because there are only a few slices of the PR 'cake' left for 2025 and most of it is already gone.
This is a game of patience; we are all aware of it. I don't understand why some people pop up and keep vomiting the same topic. This is a thread where I found everyone keeps helping each other, and most of us have been connected for a long time. You do not need to remind us now and then that there is a huge backlog. Please chill!

Hi , do it inmediately, it´s taking longer time and until you get the ECOPR that´s when you can go and request the change of SIN and dont need the work permit anymore. Renew your work permit online, it is easy and quick. Good luck.
I recommend not waiting until it expires. You won’t lose anything by submitting an extension application.
I applied for PR same date as you, and already applied and got my work permit. Better safe than sorry.
My friend was laid off because her work permit expired. She has applied for a new work permit three months ago and has not received one yet.
When u applied u will get confirmation with that u can work its against government regulations they cant laid off
