I can't believe the wait is over!!! I just got invited to take the oath! It is IN PERSON!!! May 27th!
Should I get the paper certificate or electronic? (I signed up for electronic when I applied).

P.S. I really hope that the wait for all of you here end soon as well. I know how painful this is ...

If you get the oath ceremony in person, you may not have a choice.

If you do: my personal preference is the paper. It looks nicer - and as best I can tell (eg passport office requirements), the new/recent paper ones have barcodes etc that mean they are equivalent of electronic.

I cannot prove this apart from fact the passport office accepts scans/copies for certificates accepted recently - so YMMV.

Congrats! At least one more person has crossed the finish line.

After a long wait, my partner and I become citizens on Friday! Sharing because seeing others make it through gave me hope during our two year wait. We applied from Toronto and our file seems to have moved around a bit.

AOR: June 2023
Citizenship test complete: August 2023
Partner's background: July 2023
Partner's LPP: July 2024
Language and Physical Presence: November 2024
Background: May 8, 2025
Prohibitions: May 22, 2025
Oath invitation: May 27, 2025
In-person Oath: June 6, 2025

We requested GCMS notes several times, contacted our MP, etc. It seems like in the end we had to wait out my background , with everything moving quickly since then.

Good luck to everyone. The wait isn't fun but I'm grateful that I'll soon be a citizen.

Congrats! I'm glad to hear that some background check people are making it past the finish line.

Huge congrats.
I know people who applied a month or 2 after you did (AOR end of July) and they're stuck in BG. This gives me hope they're actually getting close to the finish line.
