I’ve been waiting for 2 years now for my citizenship. Ive submitted web forms, privacy acts and contacted MPs. I’ve completed my citizenship test on December 2 2023 and passed, however only the background check and prohibition check is still pending on my application.

The web forms and privacy act did not provide any information on why these sections are still pending for so long.

When I applied I had residence in both Ottawa and Hamilton. I am currently a student in McMaster University. The ID proof that i submitted had the Ottawa address where my family lives but I am currently living in Hamilton but I had not provided the Hamilton address on my application.

Would that be the reason my application is delayed? What do you advise me to do?

Nope not your fault just CSIS delay they got double workload these days which slow down the process.

I created a new post without realizing this thread exists. Here is my problem,

Following is my timeline and I am not sure what to do now. Ordered GCMS notes multiple times, no progress, all I could infer is background check is in progress. Contacted MP and same answer from them. Is anyone on same boat or found success following something to resolve this ?

No update at all since october 2024. All my friends who applied at the same time recieved it within 6 months.

Some are here from Jan 2023 as well
We all are waiting I am also waiting from Nov 2023

Wait till finish 2 year and over 1 or 2 month

I have a question, for proof of language requirement what can be submitted? The official website says

Did you or do you attend a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French?​

can we submit a bachelors or masters degree which is in english but it doesn’t say anywhere that education was in english.

Please guide. Thanks

I'm not sure why you'd post this in a group of 2023 applicants, but to answer your question : if it's not obvious that you studied in English, and it may not be if your bachelor/master was from your country of origin, you may need a letter from the registrar of your university stating that the curriculum was in that language.
