+1(514) 937-9445 or Toll-free (Canada & US) +1 (888) 947-9445
I would have added both, you maybe also need to provide police certificate for your days in India as you stayed there for over 6 month (183days) in a row during your past 4 years, double check on police certificates requirements.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have done Pcc from
india.

Oh ok thanks for the headsupI didnt knew such issues from online application as my friend has its whole task done within 9 months.

would you know about the flagpolling day we need to add as a absence?
I put my flagpoling day as an absence, and wrote "flagpoling to activate PR status - did not really enter US". I don't know if that's the correct way though.

I would not use the word/phrase "flagpoling" in formal context.

Hi All,

I am applying for the citizenship application online, I have a couple doubts in the filling up the application form.

1. Do I need to add flag polling as the absence from Canada. [ not that it makes any difference in the day count but still what's the consensus on the same?]

2. Last year I went to India to see my family and was stuck there due to covid 19 flight ban, so I have stayed there from February to October, almost 9 months. do I need to declare my Indian address in the residence history? Mind that I was already paying my rent for Canadian accommodation while I was away in India. I have declared the Canada address as my residence but on top should I add Indian House address as well?

Thanks, for any replys!
As others said, apply paper.

We assume online application to be processed faster but for unknown reasons IRCC processes them slower (if at all).

Hi, I applied my application online separately for myself and my wife, can I merge the applications as a family instead of single?
and did you read and one did that before?
thank you

Interesting to hear that applying online is such an issue. I applied online in October 2021 and completed my oath a week ago. I had no real issues with it. Did I get lucky with a quick timeline or is that normal processing time for an online application?

That's quite fast for online. Took me almost 15 months, although I'm on the slow side of average for online, which seems to closer to 13-15 months for 2021

NEVER APPLY ONLINE!
NEVER APPLY ONLINE!
NEVER APPLY ONLINE.
APPLY ONLINE!
APPLY ONLINE!
APPLY ONLINE!

The idea is that the backlog should go up to the roof, triggering probably some embarrassing questions for the immigration minister during the parliament sessions.
Now, I believe that this goes beyond the training of new agents, it has more to do with how much space paper based applications are taking.
If let's say 90% of people apply online, the 20% of paper applications will be processed faster, but at the same time, the agents will be faced with a big online backlog that they will have at some point to do something with it.
Again, it's me dreaming that common sense will be used, which from past experiences has always been a false hope.
