Ghost update is when you login into your mycic portal, and your application status shows "Application/profile updated", after you click into application details, however, there is nothing changed. It means that there is a significant progress happened in your application, but it cannot be reflected by current application details, such as your security is cleared. If your application status shows "Application/profile updated", and you can see your background check status from "Your application is in progress...." to "We are processing your background check....", this is not a ghost update.

Thanks!!! I have a question that I did upfront medical on Apr 17 and uploaded on IRCC on 18. Then on May1 I received MR so, On May2 I uploaded eMedical and Medical form from CIC. After a week I received an email about they received. Then on the Ecas they have not noticed anythig about received Medical Results. CIC Status BG and Medical are changed.
Review of Medical results- We have requested a medical exam
BG-We are processing.

U are saying that ecas status is not updated, but in gc key status is changed right, I am sorry because I didn’t understand your question

Do you think we will get ppr in MAy .They always said security not started.

I had a status "application updated" when cic changed processing time from 20 to 19 months. Was it ghost update?

Called cic today, i was told security has not begun yet! So frustrating.
