Thanks a great deal for taking the time to respond. It makes my heart feel heavy though.

But I called CIC today and an agent told me that I can apply for my spouse. I told the agent that I do not have a NOC B job, but the agent said I could apply based on the fact that I have a PR application in progress.....my concern is that I cannot see any option that let's me choose a spouse of PR applicant

Let us assume the agent is correct. However, no matter what you will need to create an online application. Based on what you described, it seems that after you answer some questions and the system decides that you cannot apply work permit for your spouse. Thus, unless the agent tells you how to actually create an online application, otherwise, what the agent told you does not quite help.

Or you may try to find immigration lawyers to see if they can help, as they are more experienced.

I got OINP nomination July 2018
and applied paper based PR application August 7 2018,

Waiting for AOR

but I have send all documents by fedex courier service and also got signature after delivery but my friends suggested me Canada post service
Now I am worried will my documents will be accepted by CIO Sydney office through fedex

You have the option to send by courier or regular mail...don’t think it’s a problem...btw I sent my application on aug 10th and it was received aug 13th 2018...waiting for AOR...it will be great to keep in touch as we both have similar submission periods

For me the pre-arrival letter is the "golden mail" I am waiting for, because then I will be able to apply for a work permit for my spouse. Can someone please enlighten me on whether the pre-arrival letter qualifies me to apply for a work for my spouse who is outside Canada. The wait for my spouse to join me is getting frustrating for both of us. If anyone knows the best way to go about it, they should kindly let me know.

Hello, I have my PR paper based in process, just curious why didnt you mention your spouse under dependent and applied at that time togather ?? Or were you married after your paper was in process ? The reason i am asking is because i incuded my spouse with my application

I included my spouse in the PR application, but I did not apply for a work permit for my spouse....was I supposed to do so?

The general definition of "Ghost Update" :
1. You enter your account and see status becomes "Application/Profile Updated"
2. You click in your application
3. You found that nothing changed
4. Then, you go back to main page of your account
5. You found that the status become "Submitted"

This is called Ghost Update. And you do not receive any email or any notifications.

Thanks for this answer. I kind of feel so as well.
My concern is that I need to be sure that I will be able to apply for a work permit for my spouse who is outside Canada after I receive the pre-arrival letter.
Also I have tried to check for eligibility in order to generate documents for the work permit application but there is no option that I qualify for that will enable me generate any document. PS - I have a PGWP, but I do not have a NOC B job

Did you not put your wife in this application? If you did, then it is just a matter of time for you and your wife to get PPR and she will join you.

Then if you included your wife, you are good. You both will get the PR together and she will join you. Considering that you have already passed your medical since 2 months ago, your PPR is around the corner.

Yes, we are under the same stream of BC PNP program and we do not provide any job related documents at federal stage or language tests.

A friend of mine with the same background like us (Master in BC) got AOR on March 15 still has not received MR, and he is currently working on PGWP. As far as I know, I have a simpler travel history compared to him. I only went to US for shopping and conference, staying just a couple of days. Based on some previous information in this forum, it seems like medical request is sent out when criminality is passed. Pre-arrival is sent out when eligibility is passed. And PPR is sent out when security is cleaned.

And if you go to Immigrant Tracker, paper base, inland (residence is in Canada), province is BC, you will find that no one who got AOR on March received MR. While not everyone posts online through the system, it does seem like process slows down a bit after the beginning of March (AOR).

But I remember I saw a case that MR and Pre arrival were sent at the same time. And a case that Pre- arrival was sent along with PPR. And there are other cases that pre arrival come first, then MR.
Maybe you can order GCMS notes, which are free since you are living in Canada now.

You wont get any confirmation mail or anything. The first thing that you will be getting is AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) that will confirm that they received your application if you have sent a complete package. This could take 1-2 months. Check the status of canada post delivery.
