2016 PGP applicants still waiting for Sponsorship Approval (SA)

Hello Guys,
I am waiting for SA too. Here is my timeline:-

Application received : Jan 04 2016 10:47AM ( Canadapost)
document request on June 22 2016.
Sponsorship approval : PENDING

Still waiting to hear back from them.

Hope we get some good news soon. It is encouraging but at the same time disappointing to see that everyone else is getting passport request while we are still waiting for SA.

It is discouraging indeed, but then I read the 2010 and 2011 threads and feel better

When I sponsored my wife( about an year ago), they sent the SA through email. There was a PDF inside the letter confirming that they are approving your case.

I am guessing that will be the case for PGP too.

According to the CIC chatter, those applications not getting SA once they start processing 2017 PGP, will be archived and filed, in order to fast-track 2017, and demonstrate 'how well' the new system works.
The same thing happened to 2011 through 2014 PGP applicants, once 2016 opened a bunch (the majority) got fast-tracked, and they got filed away.
So if we have not received SA by the time they start processing 2017, this will be a long haul 5-6 years, like the 2011's

I have submitted ATIP request last month to see why I am not getting SA. Hopefully i will receive the answer soon.

But CIC's website says working on Jan 2014 applications, then why would it take 5-6 yrs ?

No idea, the 2010's and 2011's ask themselves that question everyday

Hi all! I got "decision made" on my sponsorship application. I don't know what it means. Maybe approved or rejected worried but will post once I receive any email/ mail from them.
