It should be enough. Visa Officers are human too. :) and perhaps, Canada's economy right now is not as good. So i think it's quite normal understandable. People are getting laid off, and a high competition on the market, Just keep on fighting for that application. Have faith and be positive.:) as long as your husband can prove he can support himself while he is unemployed, and that he will find a job and or be able to support you when you get here, then it'll be all good. They won't have a ground to deny your application. It clearly stated that as long as the sponsor is not getting welfare from the government, then you are all good.:)

I just had a question for other Canadians sponsoring their spouse from the US.
I think I may be interpreting incorrectly... was your spouse's paperwork forwarded from Ottawa to a visa office within the states?
Such as Los Angeles or New York?
My understanding was that it was necessary to pick a US visa office for the second half of processing.
Los Angeles has received his paperwork but no news since January.
Thank you.

Americans have their applications go through Ottawa. I believe that they are only forwarded to LA (I don't think NY is processing anything anymore) if there is a request for an interview. At least this is my understanding. My application went from Mississauga to Ottawa and then DM.

Yes, you're right - NY or LA offices are for interviews or cases with big red flags.

Is it ok to bring the spouse in visitor visa. In my case my wife is from India, and they allow on arrival visa for Indians. Would there be any possibilities that she might be sent back at the airport?

I am really frustrated, she being not with me for so long.

please advise.

Thank You,

You will have until your medical expires or your passport expires, whichever is closest.

If your medical expires quite soon they may have extended it to give you more time to land.

thanks andrew-brit. Our medicals were done in January so we should be okay there. My husbands passport expires April next year so I guess we have until October.

Hey everyone,

I've started updating the 2015 spreadsheet (gone through January) and added links to everyone's profiles. Those that don't match names on the spreadsheet to here or have been inactive for 2 weeks or more are greyed out so that we can better tell where things stand as a process.

Have a look and let me know if (a) you aren't yet listed or (b) you're grey and shouldn't be.
I don't believe mine is on the 2015 sheet, just the Ottawa sheet, if I read that correctly. App was sent March 7 and Recieved March 17th.

Things are moving slowly in the Mexico City VO. Almost 5 months waiting for AOR2 for many applicants on our spreadsheet! :'( Painful!

I'm wondering if it would be interesting to include on the tracking spreadsheets the 1) applicant's country of citizenship and 2) whether or not the sponsor is Canadian born, Canadian after naturalization or PR and 3) whether the application includes a child? I'm curious to know how the above factors may / may not affect processing times? Anyone else curious about the same stuff?
