Thanks so much for the answer! We do not hear from them as they have a lot of other cases. I think they will not message us unless we had SA...still hoping CIC messages us with the AOR but as long as U get SA I am happy!! I am a little nervous because i am living out of the country with my husband and I did not have a lot of evedence of income. I started a new job a week after we submitted the applactionand I have a contract now I could show...just nervos we would have to re submit and start again...oh well I need to stay positive and keep the negitive thoughts at bay. Congrads again to everyone it is so nice to be able to read the updates. I find myself logging on here up to 5 times per day!!

There is no income requirement to sponsor your spouse. But I believe there is an income requirement if with dependents.

no, i don't think so.

There is a requirement of income if you are sponsoring a spouse AND his/her dependents to Canada.

However, for just a spouse, there is no income requirement but they prefer to know you won't go on welfare when you get here.

where can this information be found? i have not heard of any income requirement when sponsoring an accompanying dependent. what is the criteria used to determine this?

Me either rhcohen2014! I have never heard of this. My cousin did not have to prove his income for his wife and her son.

I think this only applies when you are sponsoring a dependent child who has a dependent of their own. I am quite certain it is not if you are sponsoring your spouse and their dependent.

This is what it says on the CIC website:
prove that you have sufficient income to provide basic requirements for your spouse or common-law partner's dependent children. To do this, you must provide documents showing your financial resources for the past 12 months. This requirement applies only when dependent children who have dependent children of their own are included on the application.

I think this only applies when you are sponsoring a defendant child who has a defendant of their own. I am quite certain it is not if you are sponsoring your spouse and their dependent.

^ This is true.. only if your dependents have their own dependents. Your spouse and his/her children do not require a particular income range.

i agree. it's only when the dependent child has a dependent child ALSO being sponsored by the spouse. it does not have to do with first generation dependents. i knew it sounded a bit off. thanks for the clarification!

Awesome. I thought I did miss something from reading all those docs. Now lets get back to people getting thier AORs and SAs. Oh and thanks for clearing that out.

Hey folks. I am a January applicant. Our application was received on the 13th of January and we got our AOR yesterday, 17th of March. Hope it gives you a bit more guidance with processing times. We're expecting our SA to arrive within 5-7 days. I'll try and keep the process up to date.

Cheers!

We just got our AOR for our spouse visa application today (18 March), which was submitted on 20 January. Hoping to get the sponsor approval either late this week or early next week as it sounds like it normally takes a few days. I'll add myself to the spreadsheet.

Hi,

I am new in this forum. Received SA yesterday. can someone help me to update the excel sheet?

Thanks,

Hi Kathkath!

Welcome to the forum!

I would just like to clarify a few things about your timeline so i can finally add you on the excel list.

When did you sent in your app?
When did CIC-M received your application? Is it Jan 7?
Destination in Canada?
Did you received your AOR together with your SA? which is March 11?

Sorry for asking so many questions.. but your information can be very helpful for others to compare it with.
I just want to keep the spreadsheet neat and very informative for everybody :)
