Thanks again for your post, I am also checking and it looks like they are very close to working on December applications, they are getting quicker, that is for sure.

We probably still have more than a month to go, but I have to say seeing the progress makes me feel so much better!!

Maybe they will continue to lower processing times :)

good to hear that the processing time went down by 5 days....let's hope it continues this trend

Jan 2015 applicants are getting close!!! ;D ;D

For fun..Just a survey: What month are you fixing your mind on getting approved as a january applicant? :)

Im fixing my mind on December... If not, perhaps early next year... How about you? :D

I'm looking at getting it by September, max will be late November.. But definitely not a whole year of processing (hopefully). My Sister just sponsored her husband last year, she filled it on January 2014 and got everything done by August. My brother in law landed on September last year. Hopefully Manila VO will keep that trend so all of us can reunite soonest!

Wow, I guess that lifts my hopes up! How long was the validity of your brother's visa before he had to leave for canada?

I'm just not sure about that but i think they had a month to prepare for his landing.. they have been together for 3 years while me and my partner have been together for 8 years already, i made sure i have included all the proofs on my application.. so hopefully ours will be included on the list of application of no further reviews needed the only complication that i see is his dual citizenship.. but hopefully that's not a big deal since we have included all the docs needed.

There is a "list of application of no further reviews needed"?? I didn't know that really?? How does that work? Do they send it to a different office for processing once SA is done?

I go over this same question in my mind everyday. I keep hoping some miracle happens and I get it by Octoberish. Apparently Bogota (which is my visa office( sometimes processes in 5 or 6 months; but i don't know if that's just for people who get super lucky like our friend who got SA already and filed late Jan.

I don't wanna get my hopes up though, so I hope December or early next year as well.

Oh sorry my bad, sorry to confuse you... but that's just one way of calling the batch of people who got lucky and had a fast tracked processing. But there is no "official" or legal list for that.. hehe

Quick update, a December 4th applicant received AOR today, so it's a safe guess to say they are working on early December now, oh how time flies!!

HAHAHA i was so surprised.. And then got upset cause i though damn i won't be on that list. I made a big mistake on my app and everytime I think about it it makes me wanna cry. So, I send a copy of my option C printout. I now have the original in my hands and nowhere to send it to cause i still dont have a file number.......... ggggrrrrrrrrr I really hope there's something i can do :(

I'm hoping to land before September, as I've applied to university here and I can't afford international tuition! *crossing my fingers*

A very unscientific deduction I will make is that the CIC will soon be back down to 60 days processing time by the end of Feb or early March on the basis that there were less applications submitted to them during the month of December. My deduction is solely based on the number of people who filled in their stats in the November Outland spreadsheet (63) vs the number of people who filled the December Outland spreadsheet (~34). Haha. I told you unscientific. I expect an AOR and SA answer for my Jan 19th application before the end of March at the latest. You heard it here first ;). Fingers crossed lol!!

Hi lorrein,

I'm from Edmonton, Alberta too!

So are you still staying here? If you can still apply and still have the requirements to have a student visa.. i suggest it would be much better for you to apply for an extension first before you pass your spousal sponsorship. Because the processing takes about 85 days now before they acknowledge and start processing your spousal application and another 17 months (based on your Visa Office, which i assumed is in Mexico?). With your student visa you will be able to spend time with your spouse while you wait for your spousal application.

8)

I'm in Edmonton as well, but I haven't completed our forms yet.....
I've procrastinated too long.... I need a big kick on my lazy bum.
