Or are there simply far too many variables?

Far too many variables as each application is looked at on its own. Each application is also on its own timeline as per the Visa Office and officer processing it.

Alright,

Im new to all this. Ive submitted my application on April 28th. It was received in Mississauga on April 30th. I was excited at first, than got scared because i didn't receive ANYTHING ( no emails etc) after CanadaPost shows "Delivered" with a signature.

After reading a much of post, i think its safe to assume it takes "56 days" ish before i get a "AOR".

My wife is in lebanon. Im Canadian in Edmonton living.

Also, im a student, therefore no imcome at all was reported. I am getting student loan which i did report under imcome, than i explained that this income was a student loan....any input on this?

56 days is for full stage 1. If you're are April 30 applicant it's "not your turn yet"
Follow the spreadsheet to have a clear idea.
Income is nothing when we talk about spousal sponsorship. Also my wife which is my sponsor have a student loan too and was approved. So try to relax

I have another question that my fiancee wondered...

Following the instructions on the official sites, rather than giving a police certificate we gave an official authority to request one. This is exactly what we were told to do for New Zealand, as the visa office in Sydney can easily check for themselves with the New Zealand police.

However now that they've opted to have our application processed in Ottawa, do you think this would be a problem? I imagine Canada and New Zealand have very close diplomatic ties and it should be very simple for them to check with the New Zealand authorities, perhaps just not quite as quick and simple as it would be for an Australian office.

If this is what was asked for by the official website, then you are good and have nothing to worry about.

This is correct as per CIC's own instructions for New Zealand.

I just got my AOR

So the courier site said it was delivered on the 28th of April...but AOR states 27th. I guess they look at shipment date? Strange.

Either way....I'm so glad to finally have the UCI #. I hope all the rest of April Applicants get something soon

Many Congratulations. My Application was delivered on the 28th as well. Hope to receive AOR in the next day or two

CIC is picking up good pace. I hope all the foreign Visa Offices pick up pace too.

Did you get an email? UCI is given as part of AOR, so this is AOR.
