Hi all,

I am sending off my application either tomorrow or Wednesday - just need to do some last minute printing. Does any one have an idea how long Mississauga is taking to approve the first stage? I know it stood at an average of 3 months for the longest time. I'm wondering if anything has changed? Thanks!

First stage approval time is currently at 62 days CIC is currently working on apps received Feb 4, 2015

Thanks Chris! I have no idea why I didn't look on the CIC website first ???

Did you withdraw your February application?

Hi Everyone. I am happy to see someone started an April Outland Applications Forum. I am really excited but also a little stressed out when I look at the wait times on CIC. It is really hard living without my husband for so long.

Application was sent to CIC on April 2, 2015
Received by CIC April 7, 2015

I am encouraged though when I look at the spreadsheet and see that people are getting responses or at least their Applications are opened in less than 6 weeks.

Good luck everyone let's hope things move quickly for us all.

Quick question - how do I put my information on the left side under my name? I would like to track my stats as well.
I am on the March spreadsheet.

Hi everyone. I'm extremely happy to have found this site. Lots of good information here.

I am sponsoring my wife who is in Brazil and as per Canada Post the package was delivered to the Mississauga office on April 13, 2015.

I have 2 questions if someone would be kind enough to help me understand.

1. CIC is currently working on apps received Feb 4, 2015. Does this mean that they are back logged and I'll have to wait for them to go through all applications received in Feb, March to get to open mine?

2. I looked at the Outland spreadsheet which contains a lot of good information. I would like to participate. How do I add my case? I tried adding at the bottom but I'm not sure if it will be saved.

Thanks and good luck to all!

Welcome :D
No, the site is outdated. March 31.
They'll probably update today or tomorrow.
They are working on app received for SA.
Half of march applicants already received AoR.

This might be a silly question but by SA, you mean South America?
Do the process applications per country?

No, thee stage 1 is the same for everyone.
It's taking 62 days for total completion.
After this step depends on the visa office overseas.
Consider yourself lucky since the brazilian VO is taking something about a month to complete the stage 2. ^^

That's great news. I was actually thinking of having my wife apply for a visitor's visa after stage 1. She has 2 canadian daughters from her previous marriage who are also coming to Canada and don't need a visa as they have their canadian passports.

So we're probably looking at +/- three months for the entire process.

Do you (or anyone else) know what happens after stage 2? She is currently in Rio de Janeiro. Will she need to send her brazilian passport anywhere for a permanent visa or will any documents arrive by mail?

Thanks again!

After the stage 1, when the file is transfered to Brazil (São Paulo), they can or can not ask about new documents.
After the stage 2 is done, they'll ask for the passport. Your wife will sent it to São Paulo and wait they send back.
It takes about 7-30 days
Also she can schedule to drop off in person, but I think it take longer, idk for sure.
And expect about 4 months the whole process assuming that your package is complete. :D

When did you mail in your application? Canada Post delivered mine on April 13th but the CIC status application page still doesn't show as received. How long for them to update their site?
