Makes sense. My hubby is currently living in the US and his FBI certificate came 2 months after we submitted our application.
We had originally selected Ottawa as our VO but cic felt differently. lol

I think it's Ottawa's way of covering common requests in big batches - that way they can send bulk generic emails to people that are going in process to get standard items if they might not have already sent, like fees and police certificates from U.S. residents who might have sent in applications before having the FBI clearance due to delays from the FBI. There might be more they'll eventually request from someone, but those will be on a case by case basis after a more thorough review of the application.

I sent email ....and follow ups..but the same answer.
My ecas is at "in process"mode, it will be 1month soon yhis october 5.

I hope and pray they will give good news before september ends....my rent for an apartment is ticking, so help us Lord!!

Hey guys hope evrything is going great here for us all.... I have a question, my husband quit his job to help his mom to be the full time caregiver of his mom while waiting for his papers to be approved. My question is will that affect his application cause he is now currently unemployed? I am the sponsor and not him though...hmmm. I just need to know cause this is driving me insane!!!! :'( :'( :'(

We have the same date from passport request...
Waiting really really sucks...i wonder what's with the papers....is it okay? Does it goes through? - hangs u in suspense everyday. They should have not ask passport earlier and kills u in suspense and waiting, asking for the passport gives u high hopes that it visa be release sooner, jz like my friends who sponsor their families, after 3-6weeks of passport submission at CEM...they already have their visa on hand....
and now, it's getting difficult...lots of applicants are waiting.....

sometimes it is hard to wait when they ask for my passport i thought everything is ok and they will release my visa soon but until now no update at all when i emailed CEM they said that they are starting doing background check, nakakabaliw!! i hope before xmas we will get our visas..

They put me up in situation with high hope since they requested for the passport...
It will be 2 months since they have the passport.

Make it worst coz im paying the apartment, and its not being used since my husband has not come yet...
and soooo waiting is killing me.
I'd be best for me if CEM did not request for the passport earlier....so atleast i do not have to expect sooner....
Its jz frustrating...
I read threads, lucky i am not alone.
So something could have happened ...

Dont lose hope..
Soon..in Gods perfect time....

It is exactly 30 days from today when my husband has interview at POS VO.

I am anxious to get there and have him interviewed so we can move forward with our lives.

Do you actually follow the instructions in the email?
"Please note that we can only accept unzipped PDF, JPG or .doc files that are attached to an email, totaling less than 5 MB."
You can use the the case specific inquiry link to send the info to them:

And BTW, usually, when CIC requests additional documents they need to be sent in hard copy, make sure you comply with the request in the correct form.
