Hello All, I have few queries, please help..
I am currently in Canada on a Spousal Open Work Permit. I'm working as a QA Analyst here which, I believe, falls under NOC 22XX category which is not among the 50 eligible occupations of FSW 2014.
I would like to apply for PR under FSW 2014 but my eligible experience is under the category 2173.
So my queries are:
1) Can I apply for FSW with NOC 2173 as primary category and show my job offer in Canada, which is under another NOC, as Arranged Employment?
2) Does my employer have to show LMO as I am currently working under an LMO exempted category (Spousal Open Work Permit and my spouse works for a job which is in NOC A)?
3) Till what date has the applications for FSW 2014 under arranged employment been taken till now?
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hello Kareem,
Based on what I have read on the cic website, you can apply under FSW 2014 under arranged employment as
Long as you have "A valid job offer has to be for permanent, full-time and not seasonal work in an NOC 0, A or B occupation" source cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp?expand=arranged#arranged
You fall under an LMO/LMIA exempt category, and therefore, you do not require one to qualify. Source cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-permit.asp
It is still unclear when the last date of application receipt for FSW 2014 will be. However, based on a recent statement by CIC, "All eligible applications received before January 1st will be considered for processing based on current guidelines." Suggests that December 31, 2014 will be the end of it. source cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-how.asp
So if you have 1 or more year experience as a qa analyst (NOC 2171), and you will score 67 or more points based on the grid(cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp) you should definitely apply before December 31, 2014.
I hope this helps, and if anyone has differing or additional information, please post so that we can all learn from each other.
Btw I applied on November 5, 2014 under arranged employment, NOC 1221, awaiting a response from CIC.
Best of luck to you Kareem. And to us all.
Cheers!!!!!
