I noticed today the processing time for RQd applications has increased from 35 to 36 months.
My question is why the processing time is not decreasing while they have reported less applications this year and also they got a grant to accelerate the process?
How are they showing a decrease in backlog and an increase in processing speed while there is no change in 24 month processing time for routine applications!?

To prevent Writ of Mandamus.

i really thought that those who applied last year (2013) get their citizenship faster. Well maybe it depends on your local office? here in Montreal most of my friends applied in 2013 got their citizenship in less than a year. Me less than 11 months with RQ. I guess we are lucky here in Montreal. Well compare to other offices, Montreal is the largest number of oath taker (we are almost 400 when we did our oath)

This why I suggest that you order ATIP report, it will show you the the notes in your file and where it's going
Weather it's approved already, or if there are concerns been raised by the officer assigned to your case
Other wise you are just in the waiting list which i doubt because 11 months is a whole processing time

Good luck to you!

I read about mandamus file from the website, your story is similar to a guy who filed a mandamus. CIC didn't tell him anything about the wait, but then in court, it was being explained that the wait was due to the applicant being investigated by RCMP on CIC request. They found out that he was not living on the address he provided.
In your case, they must be investigating something. Could be residency stuff or tax, etc. You know better.
