Special French classes sponsored by MICC are free of charge for people when they get their CSQ. As soon as my wife got her CSQ in May she could go immediately online and registered for a free course. In August we got to know about a school where she could go free of charge for an inclass course. They also only requested her CSQ number and UIC, they were not interested to know if she had OWP or even AIP, (she did not when she registered). When she received her OWP it was also stating she can't go to school yet but that doesn't seem to include these sponsored by MICC french classes.Chickadee said:I have a question for you guys.
My husband received his visitor extension document last week, and we noticed that the document state that he is prohibited from attending any educational institution and taking any academic, professional or vocational training course.
This was really a surprise to us, as we never saw anything to that effect on the CIC website. It is also a big disappointment, because my husband was planning to take French classes while he is waiting for his permanent resident status.
The City of Montreal offers thoses classes at a very reasonable price, and he was really looking forward to it.
Do you know if French classes fit in this category which is prohibited?
Thanks!
Thank you very much for the information. We will wait until we receive the CSQ and then my husband can start classes. Have a great day!vinlander said:Special French classes sponsored by MICC are free of charge for people when they get their CSQ. So my guess is it is not prohibited otherwise they would not have accepted her...

Congrats Mdna and Vinlander!
We actually haven't heard anything from CIC since AIP
I called CIC about a week ago and they said that all the documents were in order but nothing more...
Thank you! I hope so too.mdna said:Welcome back, Naomi! We missed you!
It would be interesting to understand how second stage works. Has your partner lived in different countries? or was he in the military?
I hope you receive news soon!
have you thought about ordering the notes just to have an idea of what's going on? i mean, it's still pretty early but maybe it could give you an idea of what they are doing at the moment...perkele said:Thank you! I hope so too.
Nope, he wasn't in the military and he hasn't lived anywhere besides Ireland and Canada. In terms, of criminality, he has never even been arrested.
The only thing I could think of is them wanting to do a background check for Canada maybe? The thing is that they haven't asked for any documents or anything...
