No.. AIP means that the sponsor is eligible to sponsor the principal applicant AND that the relationship has been considered genuine by CIC (wether an interview was required or not).perkele said:I disagree. Because the sponsor being approved means AIP and that they would start processing the Part 2 for Permanent Residency which is not the case. Unless they have failed to notify me to these regards, I have not yet been approved as a sponsor, at least not by the federal.
The same applies to Vinlander, who has also already gone through with the CSQ/Undertaking step but still has not been approved as a sponsor, and thus still awaits AIP.

If your sponsorship application is approved, CIC will notify you by letter and invite you to continue the process by submitting an undertaking application to the MICC.
This letter is very important since it constitutes proof that your sponsorship application was submitted to and approved by CIC.

If you live in Quebec, you must first send your application to the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville (CPC-V), If your sponsorship application is approved, then CPC-V will send you a letter with instructions to download MICC’s undertaking kit, then to complete and submit it to the MICC. You must attach a copy of CPC-V’s letter to the undertaking application that you submit to the MICC.
