Haha! Good luck stepping away from the keyboard, I've been trying to do the same. And it definitely doesn't help that I work in front of the computer all day...

I'm glad! But how so?
It gives me hope because you applied in February and already received AOR; plus, according to your signature : CSQ & QC undertaking was approved by MICC on June 20, 2012.

This is much faster than what is quoted on the CIC website for Inland application: According to their timetable, for Inland Family sponsorship, the Assessment of sponsor and person being sponsored can take up to 11 months.

Yeah, I agree with mdna, don't get your hopes too high. The fact that the MICC processed my app fast has doesn't mean that the CIC will do the same. The website says 11 months which would mean that I, most likely, won't be hearing from the CIC until January with regard to the "Assessment of the sponsor".

I understand ... however, the CIC did give you the okay to communicate with the MICC. Right?

The MICC sponsor guide states:
Once you receive the letter from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) stating that your sponsorship application is admissible, you can submit your undertaking application to the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC).

Yup, I received a letter from them in early June to send the CSQ application and undertaking to the MICC.
It's weird though because there's another thread (older) for inland Qc applicants and they would only received the request to continue with the MICC later on in the process (around 8-10 months after applying), however once they got their CSQ roughly a week later most of them got the AIP... So, I think the process may have changed?

So ... CIC gave you the approval to go ahead with MICC, even though they have not completed your case. Hmmmm ... quite a confusing maze, isn't it? :-\ ???

This would mean that they can come back later and tell you you are not approved by CIC, even though MICC is processing your sponsorship. :'(
This is very confusing.

Hey Mdna,

I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I read something yesterday that said something along these lines: that inland QC applicants can send their CSQ application and undertaking to the MICC without receiving the actual mailed letter from the CIC as long as they have a copy of the email (AOR) that they received.

I was in a rush when I read it yesterday so I can't remember where I saw it but I'm trying to look for it now. If not, you could perhaps try calling the MICC and explain that you haven't received a letter from the CIC but that you received an email,,,

If I find it, I will let you know ASAP ;)

Yep! Exactly. It is a bit confusing and a bit of false hope at the same time.
Indeed, the fact that Quebec said OK, doesn't in anyway imply that Canada will do the same.
But, the way I see it OR at least the way I hope they (CIC) see it, is that if QC has agreed to it, assuming that all is in order, there would be no reason for Canada to deny it. (But again, no guarantee, just more like "wishful" thinking :))

i think quebec has a say on financial and genuinely of the relationship for phase 1... and CIC on overall decision basing it's selection on security (medical and criminal) reasons.

where did you see that? but again, if we go ahead and send everything without being asked, even if quebec does in fact issue the CSQ... i think the VO will be extremely angry because in a certain way we'd be "too pushy" or not waiting for their "green signal" as it is suggested; further, how much more can we do with a CSQ? it's useless because at the end of the day, we can have, send it back to CIC and they'll put it on the side until it's time...

I can't seem to find it anymore. I'm pretty sure it was posted in the thread called "anyone from quebec who applied inland" http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t44271.0.html but I briefly skimmed through the pages and it doesn't seem to be there...

But you're right, I'm sure that they'll (CIC) just set it aside until it's time. That said, you could still try and call both and see what they say. (You never know, maybe it's more common than we think and maybe it'll speed things up, who knows... After all, you're not the one who sends it the CIC, it's the MICC that does it for you)

Hi I have just applied Inland from Quebec for permanent residency through my spouse.
My application was received at Vegreville on 13/06/2012. No confirmations or emails from CIC yet but I know that it takes a lot longer than this. :)
