Do you have family in Canada? Maybe get letters from family members there? Send any and all proof of relationship you have. What evidence did you submit originally?

I would suggest posting this as its own topic, because here you are limited to the few folks who are going through Moscow. Good luck.

JusticeForAll,

On Russian-speaking forums I saw that people provided letters from Canadian banks that the sponsor had meeting with the bank to negotiate the mortgage. Also the letter from real-estate agents confirming that they assisted the sponsor to find proper housing in Canada. I realize that you are currently not in Canada and it would be crazy to go there just to meet bank/real estate to get mentioned letters, but may be you could sent your questions to bank about mortgage via e-mail and if you get answers from bank you could attach them as evidence of your intentions. Or your relatives can go to the bank/real estate on your behalf. I think it works better if you provide letters from third parties rather than if you have a copy of online job/housing search performed by yourself.

Provide them with more photos, especially for the period passed after you submitted the application, which would confirm that your relationship continues. My personal opinion is that photos of two of you in some outing where other people are also in the same picture are better evidence where there are just two of you. This demonstrates that you socialize as a family.

May be you can try to get in touch with your MP, or ask your friends/relatives to have a meeting for you. The supportive letter from MP might help, even though that such letter itself probably will not be of much value, but if you demonstrate that you try to use all and every possibility and even involved MP they might realize that you are serious with your intentions. By the way, when we had a meeting with our MP, she provided us with a lot of useful information we were not aware of. Apparently we were not the first ones who came for assistance with immigration matters and she was quite "experienced" in this field. So, who knows, may be your MP can provide valuable advice.

Also, I think, even if you are not able to provide anything more than you provided in the initial submission, but you just repeat the same points they are aware of, just the fact that you don't give up and try to support your position might work favorably and change their mind. They certainly don't want to reject the case which will go to court afterwards - if they see at this stage that you are not going to give up but fight-fight-fight, will appeal in case of rejection etc., they will be convinced that your relationship is genuine because fictive sponsors do not fight.

I wish you good luck,

BBC

Hello Everyone.

Thank you all for all the updates. It gives some hope. Here is our time-frame so far.

November 1987 - Met my wife when she was born and I was a kid. Been family friends since then ( discovered we cannot live without each other summer 2011 )
June 2011 - Discovered we cannot live without each other
Jun-11-2012 - Got married in Uzbekistan
Jun-13-2012 - Medical exams, results sent by the doctor to London, was given Fedex tracking number, medical receipt given for an application package.
Jun-25-2012 - I am back in BC, Canada
Jul-10-2012 - Complete Application package (sponsorship, permanent residence, supporting docs, all fees) sent to Mississauga. I think it is important to play all fees at once and not wait for a decision, it may save few weeks mailing back and forth later.
Jul-13-2012 - Package Received in Mississauga
Sep-27-2012 - Email from Ottawa Pilot CIC office that application package is missing marriage certificate and request to provide that by Nov 26. Immediate reply back by email advising that marriage certificate should be in the package
Sep-28-2012 - Arrival of our newborn daughter ( yup, we were five month into pregnancy during marriage ). We decided that it will be great if my wife has a small part of me close to her before she gets visa, plus it gives a chance to her parents to get grandparents feelings before their daughter and grand-daughter move to Canada. You never know when they will see each other again, but we will try to visit them often and will invite them to visit us as often too. Hopefully we can sponsor them in the future as well, once they make up their mind to join us. For now they don't even want to think about it.
Oct-8-2012 - Call from an immigration officer advising that they checked twice, marriage certificate is not present. Officer went with me over the documents again, and no certificate was found. I said, oh well, I will provide it by Nov 26.
Oct-8-2012 - 5 minutes later. Laughing immigration officer calls back advising he was able to locate marriage certificate, for some reason it got stapled with airline tickets evidence. I have used this opportunity and asked what's the best way to process our newborn daughter now. He said she is Canadian as she was born to a Canadian parent and I will need to apply for a Canadian citizenship certificate and then for a passport for her
Oct-08-2012 - Email from Ottawa Pilot CIC office with an approval of sponsorship and application package is sent to Moscow

That's all for now.... Approximate processing time listed on CIC site for Moscow office is 13 months at this moment.... But this forum does give us a hope that it may as well take only 6 months... We are currently trying to make some pictures for Canadian citizenship certificate application. It's not that easy.... Anyone had any experience making a photo of a newborn for an official document? I see pictures of my girl every day, me and my wife chat everyday ( check out WhatsApp application for your mobile devices ), every other day we video chat so I can see them and they can see me. It is very hard, but manageable. I am thinking about flying there again after New Year, but not sure how soon visa will be issued. If this takes only 6 months for some, I may as well wait, then fly there and we all fly back to Canada. We will see....

Good luck to all. I will keep posting about the progress.

AlexUzbBC,

Guy with the nick Donhollio on this forum has a wife from Uzbekistan and their process took 22 months, check his postings, they are quite something.

There is also some statistics in the link

docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoX6mUVoEWDCdEw4SGdWa3FJTTVoUzBMbHRlanFnakE&hl=en_GB#gid=0

for those who sponsored spouses via Moscow/Kiev/Bucharest offices.
You can see that the most of the cases were completed within 7 months since they were sent to Mississauga, just some unlucky ones (like me) have to wait for 13 months and more. I did not see in that statistics anybody from Uzbekistan, but most likely it makes considerably longer for Moscow to check background etc. for Uzb applicants. If you want to add your data to this file, send e-mail to Sponsorcanada@gmail.com. If you are russianspeaking, you can also check what's going on rusforum.ca (topic Сроки рассмотрения).

Did you check your eCAS?

I also think you should inform Moscow CIC in writing about your baby born after filing the application. You can find their e-mail on CIC site.

Good Luck,
BBC
PS: I like your comments about your family :).

Hi BBC
If I may ask, you referred to Russian speaking forums about immigration. My husband is Russian speaking, and I was wondering if we can find more relavent information there. Unfortunately, we haven't found any forums regarding Canada. Would you please let me know if you know of any?

Thanks :)

Hi,
I recommend for your husband to check rusforum.ca, most informative topic is "Сроки рассмотрения" under Family Class Sponsorship. There are a lot of useful postings there, although it's over 700 posts and not all of them relevant :).

Yup, have read Donhollio story. Perhaps things were different back in 2010/2011. Thanks for the link, that link does give a hope :)
Checking eCas every other day, will give them a time, looks like it takes a month or so for Moscow to receive. Fingers crossed.

Will the file number at Moscow office be same as sponsorship application number by any chance?
Yes.
In my case Application # indicated in the Sponsorship approval letter addressed to my husband by CPC Missisauga is the same as Application # in the AOR addressed to me by Moscow office. Obviously, Application # is the File #. It looks like F0000xxxxx.

Thanks Beautiful BC

Anyone here has any experience getting a proof of Canadian citizenship and a passport for a child in Moscow? See history of my posts for my question ( I am not allowed to post links yet...). Click on my name, then see my posts.

Will appreciate if someone who went through this can share experiences

Thanks!

Alex, you will get more feedback on rusforum.ca. Review available threads, if they do not include discussions for topic you are interested in, raise your question. The most active thread there is "Cроки рассмотрения" - put your question there.

Hi Alex! Finally another CA/UZ couple! Since you have read my posts with regards to the sponsorship, I won't go over them again in detail. I will say that her background check is the big wait, I really have no idea how long it took, but I estimate a year or more, (14-16 months.)

One thing I don't think I posted here was the final stage of stupidity with getting a UZ national to Canada. No courier company can ship passports out of Uzbekistan, you can't even risk a general postal envelope. So what CIC tells us to do is use an CIC approved company in Almaty KZ. Of course she will have no way to get her passport there to be sent off to Moscow, so she will need to do two things; One find a human courier to physically drop them off at the approved courier company, or she takes a few weeks holiday with your newborn, who will be pushing two years old by the time Moscow emails her for the 'request of passport/s'. Remember she can't re enter Uzbekistan without a passport, so either she goes and waits there, or gets a trusting person to courier the passport for her.
By the way the flights to Almaty from Tashkent were about $300 rtn, you'll need to do that twice. Add a hotel stay per round trip flight, some food, and you're basically adding $1000.00 to the price of sponsorship.
I will add that I had a brainy-ack idea of flying them to Moscow to pick up the PR visa, but the CDN Embassy says that is not allowed, and having the PR visa sent to the CDN consulate in Tashkent didn't go over very well either.

Another thing I noticed was that her medical will expire in June, expect to be paying for another medical. Alex I'm quite curious to hear how you found the 'testing' at all the clinics and various other places was for you so you could take that booklet to ZAGS and get married. For me it was so bizarre that I had to write about it, and even to this day Alina and I laugh about it.

Anyway, good luck in the wait, it won't be easy, but it'll be worth it.

By the way Alex, you can click on this blue link below and read the entire story of my road to happiness. It may make you feel better knowing someone has perhaps suffered more than you! :)

You need to get your brother involved and have him either call the CIC centre here in Canada, or take your file to his local MP. You mentioned he has his PR status, so that may be causing issues. I wish you the best.

By the way, any update on your case, its been a couple of months?
