we started our file from sept. 2011 after that we were asked for documents req. and we submitted the documents in april 2016
and it has been 3 months now and there is no reply of any kind from cic
i want to ask if it is normal or not?
how much time do u think the entire process will take aproxx.?
my file include two parents and a dependent.
plz reply!!!

it would take six to eight months minimum or eleven months maximum from April 2016.

once you submit all the requested additional documentation, CPC-M's lead time is eleven months, therefore i said Eleven months max.

but it has been observed that most of us receive approval letter between Six to Eight months


Curious to know: me too applied in Sep 2011 but why did you submit you additional documents almost 10 to 11 months after they have requested for additional documentation.

did you miss their email? in my case i did not see their email requesting for additional documentation that was mailed in Jul 2015, and i have lost three months of time Aug, Sep and Oct 2015

i did the intial sponsorship application in 2010, however they CIC Aknowledge document received date had may 2011. I Hope someone is working on my application and they didn't miss my documents to delays the process.

What I meant by additional documents; after submitting the actual additional documents by this time, if any documents or error in application they should have advised me by now right? What's my concern is if they request any more documents to complete my sponsorship approval process will delay it by atleast another 3 more month.

CIC Requested the additional documents on 28 July 2015,
I submitted the documents on 12 September 2016,
Aknowledge received from CIC on 20/10/2015

So they count the 11 months from date of additional document submission right?

i was told 11 months from date of submission of additional documents.

Call them and say you have submitted additional documents in July 2015 and ask them to look into your file. sometime you will come across good call center agents, if you had bad luck, give one more try, on the following day. don't call in the morning, Monday or friday. call around 2 to 3 PM and in the middle of the week (this is my point of view)

Not much can be done from our side but by reading the GCMS notes it will be you some peace of mind

Hi all does anybody having case that file transfered to Ottawa, but no medical request at all?

From my GSCM notes, the file transfered in April but still no med request. I call cic.. but not hear from them since then.

refer to Tracking sheet maintained by "ksenya" there are three entries, and their application was transferred to Ottawa in April 2016 and they have received Medical in June 2016.

Hi kcdasoju! I Hope you found someone to help with your Parents PCC in Hyderabad. Such a Inconvenient, i can't imagine that you have to go there to sort the documentation. Did you go through MP?

I called CIC on Friday, I got an agent some how managed to look into my application. He said there was no Progress and I asked him it's been all most 11 months as per to Time Frame given by CIC, but he said my application has not passed the Time Frame he said i should hear back before November 2011. He also Advised there was nothing like 11 months time frame from submitting the application, we getting mixed messages. hope i hear something soon.

I do not have big contacts so I did not take MP’s help, I was closely watching GCMS notes basically I was ordering every 20 days one set, it’s a living document, you see notes documented and tasks dates changing that’s an indication that some work is taking place on your file.

For every task there’s a due date to compete, they can’t say there’s no time frame. When you call the call center and you say you like to find the status of the sponsorship application. Before they ask your personal details they ask the following questions

a. Initially when did you apply: this will give them an idea on kind of application kit. Moment you say 2011
b. They will as you did you get Additional document request, you say yes, and you would say when you have submitted them.
c. Then they will ask you if you have received acknowledgement letter, you only receive acknowledgement letter if your application is complete (i.e you meet R10 Requirement) at this stage you application is in Processing Queue.
d. So agent goes back an calculated time line, and if he determines its less than 11 months they would not even bother asking your UCI number. If you say it's crossed 11 months, then they will open you file and check.
e. in addition how did they come up with Nov 2016 you will come to know the status? there is some kind of timeline but it's not documented

try to call some time mid of this week at about 2:30 EST, yes i agree i had similar situation, don't get to the point directly, talk casually.

you should get GCMS notes any time between 15 to 20 days (3 to 4 weeks) time frame

i went through similar situation as you are going through

i have submitted my Initial application on 12 Sep 2011
i have received my First Acknowledgement on 04th Mar 2013
I was told that an email was sent in July for additional Doc. 27th July 2015 (but my email account was compromised so i did not receive this message)

I contacted CIC-M and requested for Letter sent to me by Canada Post. Received on 26th Oct 2015

I have submitted Additional Documentation on 24th Nov 2015
Received Acknowledgement on 24th Feb 2016
Received Approval on 07th July 2016

Hey Everyone! I am new here and have a few questions that I am hoping someone can help answer:

I applied in Nov 2011 and received my Sponsorship approval today. When I checked online today, the status for Sponsorship and Application both shows as "Application Received".

1) Is there usually a delay as to when they update the online status?
2) From the time you receive the approval, how many months can it take on average for medical request / passport request?
3) Once you receive the passport request, what is the average timeline to actually be able to travel to Canada for landing?

(My local visa office is Singapore)

My parents just received their passports and will be landing in a few weeks.
Hopefully the 2011 cases and beyond resolve soon for everyone. I can personally attest to the 5+ year wait as not an easy one.
